In a near future you could stream DVCPRO HD to iPod from HVX200 and than you could do something like Gary Jones, president and CEO of eMagin Corp. of Bellevue, that demonstrates his company's new wearable display for video iPods. Using the EyeBud headset is akin to watching a 105-inch display from 12 feet away. "Suddenly you've got this big-screen, movie-screen, home-theater experience wherever you are," he says.

That is something that George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson or Stanley Kubrick would appreciate so much. Can you imagine this situation: You shoot and simultaneously you can watch how it should be in a big theater screen. AMAZING. THE HD REVOLUTION FILM MAKING PART 2 STARTS WITH THIS PATENT. THE FUTURE IS NOW.

Anyone wearing a gagdet like that on the NYC subway system might want to invest in the scrolling LED attachment flashing the message "MUG ME".

Man,

That looks like the opti-grab device from Steve Martin's the jerk. I can't imagine the eye strain on that one.. plus I think you'd be inviting some potential beat downs.

wow, that's great technology, but you couldn't pay me to wear that damn thing. It just screams, "hey kick my ass".

It's kind of like the Segway transport. I always thought one would be cool until I went to try one out. It looked so god damned goofy I couldn't even test it. Then about a month ago I was in Seattle and saw a guy riding one and felt thankful that I didn't order one. :)

Yes it's a military sort of technology but in a year the most Film/TV directors will "wear" this gadget to look what they done. Also it makes them more important. Robert Rodriguez will have one for sure. Also it reminds on the famous film directors like John Ford and Erich von Stroheim (Austrian). Sometimes the future learns from the history.

I'm a little dubious.
Asides from the goofy look, I don't believe the claims that it is like watching a big screen from 12 feet away. Its not. Its watching a very small screen from about an inch away, and I don't think you can make the equivocation our overenthusiastic CEO is making.
My lap top has a screen resolution of 1920*1080, and as happy as I am about that, I can't compare watching a movie on it to watching a movie on the Panny ae700 projector.

wow- so, isn't the great advantage of widescreen due to the horizontal alignment of two eyes? Widescreen with one eye seems hardly like watching a big screen.
