HVX footage to Mac

Having trouble getting footage from the HVX cards to my editing program.
here's the situation. Shot about two hours of footage on 2 8 gig cards by transferring to the AJ-PCS060 (hard drive card reader) and now am having trouble getting it off and into an editing program.
My macs won't even recognize the drive (even after installing the PZ card reader drivers) while my PC will - and I can even tranfer the files to my PC (they are each just obver 7 gigs large which makes me believe they are the real files (from the 8 gig cards) and also have teh stuff i shott as icon pics.
And I can even move these files to my Mac. But can't import them into FCP. I'm guessing they have to be converted, but thru what?
To make matters more confusing, when I importe dthe files from thje Panny 60 gig portable hard drive/card reader they came across as the folder 'contents' and then in there six subfolders - audio, icon, video, clip, proxy, voice all with files in them (though non readable by either of my machines).
Anyone know the solution? thanks, M

Love to help.

Just provide us with some details about your Mac set up, ie version numbers for OS, QT, FCP, and what computer, RAM and scratch drive.

As they say, we can't see that stuff from here.

How do you do that switch?

Since yesterday I've gotten further. I had one card (the last card) that I didn't have to reformat so still had footage on it. I was able to inport that ito FCP via the P2 storage unit's card slot.

But I still can't get the rest of the 'saved' footage from the P2 storage device. Again - I know it's there, I can see it on my PC. Just my mac doesn't even seem to recognize it.

Any thoughts on this?

(FCP 5.1 is what i'm running)

I cut and pasted the following from the technical bulletin on this issue. I hope it helps. In addition, make sure you have all the required drivers downloaded.

To change compatibility mode between Mac and Windows:

1. Connect USB cable between P2 store and Mac or PC, and then turn on P2
store.
2. Make sure USB LED (D) lights.
3. Press HDD capacity indicator button (C) first, then push CANCEL button
(A), and then Battery level indicator button (B) and then hold for more than
five seconds.
4. The color of USB LED (D) is orange for Mac, green for Windows.

5. It should be noted that you may have to unplug the P2 Store and plug it
back in, in order for it to be recognized by the Mac or PC. You will also
need to have it unplugged from the computer in order to transfer cards.
