Hvx 205 A !!!!!!!

Hello People, I don`t know If I`m the first who writes about this - but actually last week I went to a Pro Camera SHop in Tokio and was told about the HVX 205A. Yes - the Man said Panasonic will anounce this in April - it will be of course P2 but he didn`t know anything else. He only said that they will call it HVX 205 A - so maybe it`s only a small upgrade but who knows.

I was buying a new 32GB card an was really lucky to hear about a new HVX whre I can use my cards in the future.
 
Hmm, that sounds strange. Maybe the PAL version would be 05, but typically it's 02 isn't it? Anyway, April sounds about right for anything really being announced, after all it is NAB. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

A small update will not help sales anymore since the SONY EX-1 cam on the market. We need something major like 1/2 inch ccd's, higher resolution , less noise, better LCD screen, HD-SDI, better viewfinder, etc. etc.

EX-1 and HVX200 are so different, it's difficult for me (and others) to say that any update to the HVX200 would be in response to a LONG GOP rolling CMOS shutter cam.

HPX500 seems to fit the bill.
 
the 500 represents a much more significant jump in price compared to the ex1 though. they are very different cameras, but people don't seem to care about long gop or rolling shutters, as much as they care about chip size.

after seeing more and more letus + ex1 footage it's making people jump ship. i just wonder if a new hvx200 series camera could come close to closing what people consider to be the gap between the two.
 
no but seriously, this sounds interesting. Hopefully, someone will verify this rumor. Thanks for posting.

What people are jumping from what ship to what other ship?

What is the "gap" between the two?

In other words, if this is your opinion, that fine.

But you seem to be referring to some objective market study that doesn't exist.
 
yeah, just my two cents. i just seem to be seeing quite a bit of ads for people selling their HVXs because they are buying Ex1s. So many it's affected how I percieve what's going on. That being said, my HVX comes in the mail two days from now and it feels like about 30 holidays in one.
