Hpx300 rumors

Cmos?!?!?!?!?!?!

Cmos?!?!?!?!?!?!

AAAAHHHH! Why oh Why did they have to go cmos? That things that I was always excited about! NO CMOS! NOW IT"S RUINED!!!!

Jan... joo got some splainin' to do....

because the 500 does not include a lens at that price....the HPX300 includes a fuji lens. Add 4-25 grand for a lens to your 10,000 figure to get a HPX500 ready to record

Ok, it's CMOS, but what about rolling shutter and jello viosion???

That's the beauty of this. Those who lampooned it for years are now going to have to defend it. Maybe in the end we'll discover that the problem wasn't as bad as previously made out. And maybe the fear tactics are done for good and we can get a more even appreciation of the pros and cons.

This camera, while 1/3" chips vs. 1/2", addresses the Sony EX3's price point, while providing a better form factor, full raster recording, and a codec that blows XDCAM EX away. That is what Panasonic was aiming for.

"The CMOS chip inside the camcorder is newly designed. It features a on-chip chromatic aberration compensation, as well as dynamic range stretch, which reads the content of the image to compensate for overly bright or dark areas. Panasonic also claims that the pixel density on the CMOS chip is lower than comparable sensors."

Not sure exactly what this means, but a little time should explain all.
