Nobody is a bigger fanboy of the DVX100A than myself as it helped make my career. Of course we are on a forum dedicated mainly to Panasonic cameras so you can expect people to be biased just like on a Mac forum. But there are tons of former DVX owners who can't stand the noise and picture quality of the HVX. Hopefully Panasonic gets back to being on top with the new cameras. I don't like the consumerish feel of the Sonys. Sonys feel lke they are ready to fall apart at any moment. :)
 
It is one thing to say that the noise level of the HVX200, in some situations, is not good or is unacceptable.

It's another to say that "Panasonic should be ashamed of themselves [sic] for putting out the HVX200."

People here were reacting to the last statement, which to many is mostly a hyperbole.
 
The best price I have seen is from Julian at AVS out of San Diego. You can get one for less than 4900. You have to speak via phone to him, he is an account executive. If you search you can find other posts were I give specific info how to reach him. He is giving us DVXusers good deals.

He said it comes with the 16GB card and the Barry book too.
It is total legit, panny auth dealer.
 
nice......that's a good price....

i'm still debating on getting the hpx170....i like the new features and improvements....but i still good great picture quality out of my original HVX200.

if i do make that move i'd want to keep my original hvx as a b-cam.

i still need to build my audio and lighting package though so i can't justify making that move yet...ugh...

They are good people. I bought my HVX from them.
