T2i How to make the Glidecam 4000 work with Canon T2i

I think the canon t2i is to lite for the Glidecam 4000 Pro. Has anyone got the Glidecam 4000 to work with their Canon T2i?

It's not too light. I flew my 7D and the T2i on the 4000 without issue. I know there is weight difference but you can always add weight. Balancing that thing was tough the first time. I would suggest watching a few youtube tutorials on that. It can be done for sure. I'm at work and post the links to youtube. hope it helps.

just making sure it works. I ordered some stuff for the T2i hopefully it will add some weights. It works perfect with my HVX200a but just wanted to get the best results in both worlds ;) Glad to know its possible with the Canon T2i. Thanks!

the T2i is so much lighter then the 7D lol

Are you sure about that?

The 7d weighs 1.8 pounds and the t2i weighs 1.2 pounds. Once you add a battery grip to your camera with two batteries in there you will see how great the t2i handles then.

okay so my battery grip finally came in. I have 2 canon batteries in this thing. I tried it with the steady cam with my 55-250mm telelphoto lens. I added all the counter weights to the Glidecam 4000 Pro (10x10) & it is still to light. Does anyone else have any suggestions to getting the camera to at least 4 pounds so I can use it on my glidecam 4000 Pro?

yeah throw something on the hot shoe...like a light panel or monitor and that should get you there even if you don't use them

Hmmm honestly 55-250mm, it's gonna be hard to get steady footage out that ... I could get around 4-6 secs out of it ..which is not to bad for a commercial. This has nothing to do with the weight, just that Tele focal lengths are much more difficult to do some "gliding"

Your gonna have to start with a wider lens, 11 - 20 mm range.

I have the Glidecam HD-4000, but it's very similar to the Glidecam 4000 Pro. I have a T2i and I got it to work just fine, but I'm also using a bit heavier lens too. You can always get a longer screw at Lowes or Home Depot or one of the local hardware stores you have around, and add extra weights on the top to balance it. But anyways, I have a video review about how I got my T2i to work on my HD-4000. If you are interested, it's here in this thread:
