I'm nto sure there is any easy way to tell for sure, but my sense is there are lots more GH1 users here than at DPReview, which is the world's most popular site for still camera users. Of course here most people are focused (pun intended) on video.
This site is known by a couple of sites that link to it as the place to discuss HDSLRs. No other forum community has really latched on as well, so I'd expect a much higher ratio here than any other forums.
Just curious why the GF1 gets zero interest around here? I know the GH1’s feature set, lens, and manual options are superior. However, the size of the GF1 must be enticing to those users who already have a larger pro option(7D…etc) and just want to carry something small for some shots.
How many people shoot 1080p with the GH1 vs. 720p?
I bought my GH1 before the GF1 came out so I didn't really have a choice.
I shoot mostly in 720 60p and it's much better than what the GF1 has because they double the frames. The articulating screen is another huge benefit for me that neither the GF1 or the 7D has.
I never use 720p. 1080p has known limits and rewards those that stay within the limits, especially with prime glass mounted via adapters. My experience, and I am not a world class expert, is that many of the problems do not go away with 720p, and those that do lessen do not seem to occur that often in 1080p. Just my subjective opinion for the type of stuff I shoot. Your results will vary.
