How many d7000 users? Stand up and be counted!!

So the only thing the Nikon lacks vs Canons is not having 60fps? Seems like a great camera and I love the look from the videos.

Oh yeah! Loving my D7000! Getting great 1080p video with that awesome Nikon look. 98% of the time I'm shooting 23.976 fps anyway, so getting the D7000 was a no-brainer, especially after playing around with both the Canon 60D and Nikon D7000. I'm also shooting a lot more stills than ever before!

Anybody got some native footage to share?
Would like to take a closer look ! Indoors and outdoors.

Thanks Everts

Im late to the game on this thread, but I'm a proud owner of the d7000, along with nine Nikkor's to play with.

Here! D7K all the way.
I'm a huge fan of the footage. I've done a lot of client work with it and clients are ALWAYS impressed. Solid performer.
*rant alert*
IMHO, its never the camera that makes great shots, it's the operator. (think of all those folks who blew us away shooting on HI8). The quality of camera these days, all of them, is stellar. There aren't any more excuses for producing bad video.
*rant over*

go make a masterpiece! :-)

My wife started bugging me about the D7000 that's in Costco and when it went on sale last week, she was hounding me about it so I researched it on dpreview and other sites and, based on the reviews, decided to go half on it with her.
Costco's kit includes the 18-200mm VRII lens, which is extremely versatile, while not being too terrible on image quality.
What's impressive is the clean, high ISO images, and the 14-bit RAW and how many stops of shadow detail I can recover from them. Absolutely stunning. We're happy with the camera as a still camera. I won't be giving my my XDCams any time soon for video, but the Nikon's video feature can sure come in handy in 'emergencies'.

LOL Basspig. I havent logged in here for weeks. Bought a D7000 yesterday, and see you beat me here. I haven't even TRIED video on it yet. Maybe next week. Got a photo shoot Thursday with weekend delivery. Nice to be back on a Nikon.

Funny how wise decisionmakers think alike about camera purchases. My wife's been bugging me to get this camera and then the Japanese earthquake happened and I decided to act before the scarcity of inventory sets in. I'm glad I did! Try finding just about anything--be it SxS media or Nikon D-SLRs this week, in stock! Nikon's factories in Japan are shut down, over a dozen factories listed on their web site. So I'm glad I listened to my wife and got the cam. We're going half on the cost in joint ownership. And as of this writing, the D7000 appears to be the max bang for the buck. That 18-200 lens is a versatile walkabout lens. My wife shot some photos that were 6 stops under--and I recovered them fully in Adobe Camera Raw. This cam has astounding dynamic range when shooting 14-bit RAW. It's now my shooting format of choice.
The video is there, but it's nothin' special. Nice for short web videos. I reckon Philip Bloom could get some nice footage out of this camera, but it suffers many of the same problems that all single-sensor video cameras do, so it's a given. I bought it as a still camera, with no intent to use it for video.
I think you're going to love the D7000!

Hello everyone -another D7000 user here. Purchased for stills but will certainly use for the occassional video project.

+1 for me. Didn't even see this thread till today. Had a D90 previously, and upgraded to the D7000 for its much improved features and massively improved video. Mine's mostly used for photos, but I love to mess with video, too. Got a couple of projects coming up soon involving video. Can't wait. :)
