C300: How barebones C300 form factor is mostly perceived by people out of trade?

A little unusual question I suppose :)
How barebones C300 with only lens attached (no LCD unit mounted) is perceived by people not knowing what camera is that? Can this be mistaken for being a big photo camera? Or most of the people straight away recognises that this is video camera?

I am thinking documentary wise. Even after 5D2 revolution DSLR's/mirrorless are not perceived by passerby as a "film making" machine. You can get some shots that you would be able otherwise - they're less intimidating. I am wondering if it's still true with C300, or it's size and form factor goes beyond the point that make people notice it more.

What is your experience?

I have shot with the C300 (stealing shots) for a feature film in busy monuments in Delhi, pretending as a photo camera. I had the LCD on top but folded. That made the people a bit suspicious, but I could manage. I even shot within a religious place. :)

I have also shot without LCD in forests pretending it to be a still camera. However, you have to be quick. If people feel see that you are at one place for a long time and there is not clicking sound, then someone might suspect. A bit of smartness helps. :D

Thank you for your reply!! :) So definitely possible, but have to be quick?
I guess maybe shutter sound from smartphone would help to gain a little bit more time ;P

C100 barebones (no top at all, screen shut) is 90% perceived by non-filmmakers as a stills SLR. C300 barebones will be like 50% I assume. It does look camcorderish a bit more the c100 with the box-of-15-complicated-buttons shape viewed from the left side and the big EVF loup and lack of back LCD.

The only time I've had a problem has been in the wild, most animals know right away you are using a video camera, however, people I find have no idea and will continue to act just like animals, and when the animals know they start acting like people, in either case our cover in blown. Women are a bit intimidated by the sheer size of the C300, but animals again, don't seem to care.
