Horror Scene

I am in a class of 10 people and our project for the time was to create a tandem video. We all picked numbers from a hat, I got 2.

The person who picked 1, started a 3 page horror script. In his video, some girl got nabbed and killed by a figure in black. I followed his kidnapping/murder scene with another kidnapping/murder scene of my own, but with a male instead of a female. I saw some of the scripts and videos that followed mine, and the piece took a lot of different turns since everyone had their own ideas, I don't think it will make sense when watched in order even though it was supposed to.

Here is my part for the project. I skipped out on some sounds because I ran out of time, but I think it still came out pretty good.

Really nicely shot and edited. Music is very atmospheric and the acting is great, except when he is being strangled, he doesn't look surprised, nor does he look like he is in pain. Other than that it is very nicely done.

That really looked great! What did you edit with? What did you use to get that look?

That was really great. I love the color correction and the gloomy feel, the audio work in and out of the car was awesome, and the storytelling with the closeups of stuff in the car was clever and really pro. Great work.

Thanks guys, I forgot I put this on DVXuser until just now.

Christian - I used the HVX200 with my SGpro and a Nikon 50mm and 28mm

Robbie - I love your look too, your physical look

Mr24p - I edited in Sony Vegas with the help of Ray Light. I used scene files that were recommended by a fellow HVX user on vimeo. I then crushed the blacks and made it more contrasty. It was a pain because it was cloudy and raining and real dark, but it ended up looking cool. I fiddled with the 3 way color corrector and some other random filters. I put an unsharp mask on all my footage as well.

grahamdunn - I used a stickypod for the mounted shot. It was the cheaper of the ones B and H sells

I don't know if it's to much to ask for what the scene file settings were?

if not its okay.:dankk2:

I got it from Chris White from Vimeo (and probably from here too)
They worked nice in the dreariness.

The second half of the video I think I went to shoot with this scene file, but didn't have it saved as a preset because I was using a different HVX than the first time so I just shot flat with a low ped. It was hard because the HVX is not that great in low light, plus I lost some more light with the SGpro, and some more with my crumby Nikon but I can't complain...
