T2i Horizontal lines on T2i

Hi all. I've been reading through the forums for a while now, but this is my first post.

I just got my T2i last week and have been very happy with it. Today, though, I was playing with it at work and noticed green horizontal bars on the live view screen. This shows up in the final footage, as well.

I'm assuming it's the fluorescent lights, but I brought it to work last week and didn't notice the green bars. My co-worker got out his 7D to see if he had a similar problem and it looked fine. The bars weren't noticeable on the T2i when I went outside. The bars vary a little depending on shutter speed, which again has me thinking it has to do with fluorescent lights.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I took a still from a video clip to show the effect.

I'd be extremely surprised if that were anything other than fluorescent lighting flicker. Try setting your shutter to 1/60 or 1/50 to match the 60 or 50 Hz power supply in your area and see if that helps. Depending on the lights, though, they may flicker at a different rate.

Yes, everyone has that problem, on every CMOS rolling-shutter camera out there. You must must must must must NOT use any shutter speed other than 1/60th (NTSC territories) or 1/50th (PAL territories).

Unless you know it wont give you a problem, never say never, right? Oh wait.

Thing is, if you're going for a filmlike look, you shouldn't be messing with the shutter anyway. 1/60th is close enough to 1/48th that it's really a good standard rule to just glue it on 1/60th and not change it.

I am also facing the same problem:crybaby:, thats why I started looking up on the web. I hope this not my
cameras problem, Is there any update on the same issue please post.

Thanks\-

Also, it gets worse -- I've found that dimmable LED lights can cause the problem, regardless of whether you're using 1/60th or not. 1/60th is safe for fluorescent or HMI lights, but dimmable LEDs might cause the problem even at 1/60th.
