HMC150 on Ebay

Hey guys,

I don't want to seem like a total noob here, but I am looking to buy an HMC150 and came across this listing on eBay:

http://tinyurl.com/y7dsmlj

I know, I know, if it seems too good to be true it probably is!The red flags for me are the price, the fact that he has a number of items listed at $88.88 and the fact that he can't read "eBay emails". When I click to see his other listings, the camera doesn't show up which is weird to me. Also, every so often when I refresh the page the seller changes, how is this possible?

He mentions that he bought the camera on DVXuser, so he seems somewhat savvy and I have the eBay buyer protection on my side, if I get the camera and it's not exactly as he describes I can just return it right?

Anyways, I apologize again for sounding like a noob, it's been a while since I purchased anything off of eBay and I thought maybe someone here might be a little more savvy than me.

Thanks in advance for your time!

A.) Very weird he doesnt want ebay to know about people contacting him, he even goes as far as having a image for his email so it wont get auto flagged.

B.) He cant make up his own rules that overthrow ebay TOS.

C.) $2000k is cheap... he says you ONLY can BIN and and the buy it now is no longer there - what a smart cookie... He could have set the auction up with a 'fixed price' initially.

D.) If use use paypal/ebay you are protected, but be weary of at least a month of fighting (money tied up) if anything does happen...

E.) Maybe you can ask for the serial number and check if there is a warranty activated on the panasonic website, or call...

Personally - I was buying a tool that I would use to make $$, I was much safer spending a little more - getting it from a reputable dealer with excellent customer service and a 3 year warranty.

After looking more... seen this guy on the forums... might be a good deal then. http://vimeo.com/strobemedia (If its really him)

It's easy to go with temptation to buy things for cheap.. but when it comes to video equipment you just HAVE to go with quality. Never go cheap because it's not worth it at all in the long run.. especially if you are using these tools to make money. Buy knock off sunglasses.. not video equipment.

that's not wise either ....you might go blinder :cheesy:

I think I've seen this guy posting on ebay before months ago. One time he posted like three auctions that were all the same. Two were shot down by ebay fast as lightning, and the third one not too long after that.

Hey CTB - I've got an extra HMC-150 willing to sell for about $3000. 1 year old, perfect like new condition, low hours, original box, all accessories, manuals warranty cards etc. Also, has 2 official panasonic large batteries (I believe 5700s) and the smaller battery that came with it. And in addition, can throw in 2 x 8gig cards. If this interests you, feel free to PM me. Willing to answer any and all questions, take some photos of it and so on.

Thanks again,
-Brett
