hit and run on motorcycle

hey gents, about 3 weeks ago i was ran over by an suv, the douche (or lady douche) ran a stop sign, i seen the white suv, laid down my r6 onto the left side and the last thing i remember was seeing the front axle on my left and the rear axle on my right, i gained full consciousness in the ER where they were cleaning my left arm of roadrash, as of then, that was the only injuries i sustained, now i am having neck and wrist problems which are being looked at, anyways,

why is this in this forum, i was riding with my a1, i had it in a canon backpack,

i once awoke while everyone was hovering over me on the street, i was asking about my ride and my camera, they said that my backpack was ****ed up, but check this, camera had no marks on it, they showed it, and i said turn it around, show me the lens, turn it on for me please, they did, and everything worked fine, was so fortunate for that b/c later i found out my insurance wouldnt cover losses other than my bike, my bikes whole front end was missing, as in when i received the bike back to my garage, i was given nothing that was in the front, either they gone missing, or they were in tiny pieces and swept up, the suv ran over my head and im guessing the front of the bike, my helmet has tire marks on it, and i only assume that i was ran over b/c i was unconscious.

the funny thing is, i am missing my lens cap, i was wondering if anyone knew where i can purchased the exact one or a proper replacement lens cap that you have used,

thanks for reading

Holy hell man, that's insane. Glad to hear you're okay and I hope your wrist and neck problems get the attention they need right away. That road rash looks really painful though. I'm not sure where to get an A1 replacement cap either though. Maybe give Canon a call?

Good luck with your recovery,

Kegan

Dude that looks sick. Had a friend years back that got crippled because some old lady pulled out in front of him and he T-boned her vehicle. Her excuse was "I thought I had the right-of-way".

Take care.

Wow bro, I have ridden bikes for many years. And had some close calls with and without helmet. (before the helmet law) I must say thank God for those shoei helmets in this case. I remember seeing a sign that said "got a $10head? wear a $10 helmet" It changed my perspective on helmets at that point. Glad to see you and your camera are doing great, and hope your other problems come back to full recovery.

I remember going over the bars and shattering my thumb on my dirt bike. The helmet split in two and I couldnt remember what day it was. My first concern was the bike.

Whoa man that sucks, hope you heal up well and get some sort of settlement out of the whole ordeal. I'd call canon about that lens cap, they've got to have it as a replacement part.

only a t-shirt, yes i know, i preach wearing a jacket to all my friends now, i prolly wouldnt of worn them that night but i had leathers in the mail b/c i do (did for the time being) track days, now i have some nice full leathers for the track, now i just need a bike, gonna track it out b/c that is the only place i will now ride motorcycles

i will def call up canon, i see some on ebay, but they are not the orig lens cap, they do say canon on them, but unsure if they are legit

And maybe give you free Canon products for life, make you their Subway Jared, market Canon as the Volvo of camcorders...

Good to see you up and around, dog.
