Hey guys,

Im new here and am about to buy my first canon camera
At this stage I am very enthusiastic about the HFS11-
(I know that the HFS20 is just about out, but it is too bulky for my needs)

Before I do buy it, I have a quick question...

I have read in the manual that once the LCD panel is closed, the camera goes into a standby mode-

For my purposes I need to be able to record with the panel closed-

If anyone owns this camera, can you please confirm that it is possible to record with the LCD closed,

Many thanks!

yes they do shut off when the LCD closes, but you can flip the LCD around and the panel will fit against the body of the camera and it will still run ....

That is not true. It does not shut off if you start recording before you close the LCD. It will continue recording just fine. I do that all the time in my concerts to conserve battery. So frame, press record and then close the LCD. Of course if you are not recording it will go into standby.
