Take a look at this page touting the speed of the new Mac Pro.

http://www.apple.com/macpro/performance.html

Note the graphical representation times of FCP 5.2.1

FCP 5.2.1.... a mis-print.... or a hint of things to come????

May be there's hope

[Anders Holck]

I would suspect an update at IBC in start september....you know an european event....

At the bottom of the graphic on that web page it states

" Mac Pro testing conducted with a beta version of Final Cut Pro."

INTERESTING!!! Im gunna check software update like 20 times a day for this

I believe that we are really looking at MWSF in January for a complete update.

But I'm guessing 5.2.1 will really be keyed to taking advantage of the quad Xeons.

i know. i just wish im gunna invest in the HVX and accessories in the meantime, i was planning on buying a Mac Pro on release, but i want lenses and more lights and a matte box and more stuff. So the Macbook Pro + HDTV are a decent workstation for now.
