heres a good one... CL ad

Apparently there are people who think because a movie only lasts 2 hours, it must only take 2 hours to shoot.

If I were "Starving", as the ad poster requests, I certainly wouldn't be chasing projects that require me to essentially sponsor the shooting.

Here's another job that many filmmakers here might be qualified for :):

I have seen your ad, and am interested. Any particulah way you need this done? I mean, we could take this boid out to the desert and just put some lead behind his eah. Quick and Painless. But if this boid has been really buggin' yeh, we could make it painful. Me an' Vinnie ah relly good at this paht. We'll trim his feathers one by one, bust his beak, then slow cook him in the micrawave.

But our fee is 5 large, up front, 3 on the back end and airfare. Do not call us or reply, as this will be the last contact we will have. Leave the money in the newspaper machine at the mahket. And place an X on the front of it. We will know when you have "made the deposit".

Ha ha! Very nice, Doc!

I heard back from the first guy. He said that he has 6 videographer friends and that (shockingly) none of them are wanting to help him with this once in a lifetime opportunity. He's cocky as well.

Reading the quick synopsis, I've realized there's no way this will be shot quickly. Many locations, of which including (at least) 4 houses, a business, 2 or 3 death flashback scenes, possible child molestation ... I also counted 12 characters in the synopsis.

I grew bored of it.

Should be a real gem.

This should be a short film "The Nightmare on Script Street", about a clueless guy who thinks his project is a piece of cake, and goes through a series of 5, 10, 15 shooters in a pointless quest to have his script shot...

Someone should promise this guy one day, and that someone should bring a friend to shoot a documentary about that day.

HAH.

Here's the synopsis that I got back from him... it's horrible... and there's no story...

SYNPOSIS

COREY and DIEDRE THOMPSON are step-siblings, having the same mother, but different fathers. Corey’s father died when he was 11 years old. Diedre not only knows her father, but was molested by him as a child. By the time they were teenagers, they had no parents around, as Diedre's father left her and their mother died in a car accident when they were only 17 and 16 years old. This was the same year they were separated. Corey's aunt on his father’s side took him to another state as Diedre went to a foster home. They lost contact for years until one day Diedre found Corey's information online after numerous failed attempts from the both of them. They reunite 15 years later, both having sons of their own. Diedre's son's name is CHARLIE. He's 9. Corey's son's name is BRYSON. He's 11, upon the reunion. Diedre plans to move to DC to be closer to her brother, but took a weekend visit there just so they could reunite. They both unveil transgressions in their separate lives, as they reminisce. The both of them come to realize that their stories are strikingly similar to each other’s, which confirms the idea that no matter where they are on earth, they will always be one and the same.

last time i tried to make a film from backstory alone, i never wrote the first word of script. sounds like he didn't either.
