I'm new to using this camera and most importantlly editing AVCHD footage using Adobe Premiere Elements. If you have experience with both I'd apprreciate being able to ask you some questions on things I need help with.

and the questions are???

the answer is, you can only edit avchd 'natively' in ape7. and even then i bet it won't do it very well to be practical. i suggest buying a conversion/transcoding program like tmpgenc xpress to convert your avchd to avi, mov, or mpg.

Thank you. Another Question.

Thank you. Another Question.

I'm new to this world of AVCHD and editing. You had said that I can only edit avchd 'natively' in ape7. What is ape7? Is that another editing program?

If I shoot in HD will converting/transcoding the AVCHD to avi, mov, or mpg still allow the end product to be HD or will I no longer have HD?

On a different subject, another problem I'm having is I have something I'm editing in Premiere Elements. I've loaded in all the footage needed. It's regular footage taken from regular video and such. Then I loaded in the on-camera footage shot in HD with the HMC150 camera. When I take the footage and put it in the timeline, the footage is blurry. If I take that same footage and import it in to a brand new editing file it's no longer blurry. I don't know if the blur is cause by mixing non-HD video with HD in the same timeline. Any idea what the problem is?

You convert to an intermediate codec depending on what editing program you are using. But you do not convert to mpg which is heavily compressed.

To my knowlege only Premiere Elements 7 supports AVCHD footage.

And you haven't indicated what version you have.

On these questions, what does Adobe indicate is the issue?
