Help! Raylight for .mov to .MXF

Hey everyone,

Sorry if this has been covered, but I wasn't very satisfied with the responses from past threads on this topic. Has anyone ever had experience with Raylight for converting .mov files back to .MXF?

My problem is that I've imported all of my footage from FCP on a mac, but now my mac is out of commission so now I have to use Premiere Pro CS3. Will I need to purchase Raylight Encoder Pro? There isn't much information on the Raylight website... Thank you so much in advance! My deadline is VERY SOON SO REPLIES ARE MUCH APPRECIATED!

I've been reading up on other ways of solving this problem....Apparently CS4 is able to recognize the .mov files imported from FCP? Has anyone tried this? I'm downloading the trial version now....

Does no one save the original MXF files after they import? The full card structure? I swear we say this several times a day until we are blue in the face...it is ALL OVER these forums. "Save the entire card, put it on a hard drive and shelve it! This is your backup...this is your "master tape." I case you need to move to another system..."

Invariably we get "but I will only be editing this footage with FCP," or "but that takes up twice the space...that's silly."

It is not silly, and now you see one reason why not.

Did you NOT keep the originals?

Sorry for not responding, but after I had figured it out, I had a long way to go to edit before my deadline. I've been done for a while now, and I did get to import those .mov files to a CS4 timeline on Windows XP after installing Quicktime. Thanks for everyone's help!
