Coming from a photographic background and I've got a new AC90A. I shot some interview footage in front of a great big window. I probably should have just used natural light but I added in some really cheap LED lights that I got off B and H. (I think these lights may have really warped the color). For this shoot I used Scene File 6 and white balanced as well of a big piece of paper I had the interviewee hold.
The results just look Bad. I thought I could get into Premiere/AE/Speed Grade and fix the look. Well after playing around FOREVER with different settings I decided to come here and get some advice cause I just don't know what I'm doing. When I throw a garbage Matte/mask on the subject's face, to get just the skin tone, Premiere Vectroscope shows me that it falls pretty much right on the skin line.
I think the biggest issue I'm having is not being able to get a good color grade no matter what I try. I feel like I'm pretty good at doing this sort of thing in PS and Lightroom with photos, but no combo is working here. Not sure if I should use a different scene file, different lights, different white balance.
Here's two shots. One right out of the cam the other with a test grade (bump up midtone gamma, bump up overall saturation and contrast, and some blue in curves). Any advice appreciated.
