We will be partnering with a variety of distribution companies who do their own area of expertise very well, while growing and nurturing a community of fans, friends and followers via social networks.
The distro strategy keeps evolving. Basically, its framework is to hit these windows with anywhere from 2 to 6 months in between each:
These are the rights a filmmaker has to offer. It used to be that you sold all of these rights to one distributer. but our plan is it to work each of these individually while retaining the right to do direct sales of DVDs and merch from our own distro company, CINEFIST.
The distro strategy keeps evolving. Basically, its framework is to hit these windows with anywhere from 2 to 6 months in between each:
- Submit to Top Tier Festivals and Garner Reviews
- Announce Platform Release (at a film festival when press is watching)
- Theatrical Tour / Direct DVD Sales (a dozen or so theatrical events in different cities)
- License Theatrical, Broadcast and DVD rights to Foreign Territories at AFM and Cannes
- VOD (video on demand via cable tv and internet - time-warner, ifc vod, amazon vod, netflix streaming)
- Retail DVD (netflix, walmart)
- Premium Cable (showtime, hbo, starz, etc)
- Cable (IFC, Sundance Channel, etc)
