Hey everyone,

Just wanted to throw up a thread for my new film "He is Free." This is late as we wrapped shooting in January, but as we are getting deeper into post now I wanted a place to share with people who are interested.

He is Free is roughly a 30 minute film that follows the chance encounter between a tense, socially awkward old man and a bartender. In order to get to where he wants to be in life this man must first share his troubled past with a complete stranger.

So I will keep this up to date with everything we are doing and make sure to get a trailer up when we cut one. Cast and crew details in the next post.

If you are interested in getting twitter updates, follow the account in my signature.

Here are all the updates I have forgotten to post :)

10/20/11 - Sound design coming along nicely, currently looking for someone to cut a trailer

10/7//11 - First post updated with posters

10/1/11 - set a deadline of 11/1 for the sound design. That is all we have left, so soon after that date we should have the finished product together, almost a year in the making.....Time has certainly flown by!

9/25/11 - New sound designer found. Many of you may know him, Alan Chang. I have admired his work on past DVXuser projects and greatly look forward to working with him on this! Such an awesome addition to our team, definitely worth the wait!

9/15/11 - Sound designer #2 has dropped out. Definitely another hurdle as it took us a while to find someone to replace the first guy. This second person was a friend but it seems he will not have the time he thought he would. Luckily (kinda) he hadn't started yet so we did not really lose anything.

9/10/11 - Color grade complete. We are thrilled with how the image turned out now we are just waiting on sound design

9/5/11 - Video FX complete! There wasn't too much to do, but a couple scenes benefited from a little work and it turned out great!

7/30/11 - Not much luck on finding another sound designer up until now, however it looks like we have found someone to fill the role, C

6/20/11 - Sound designer dropped out due to work conflicts, most things were on track to finish up at the same time but this will push it

5/4/11 - Rough (Picture Lock) cut shown to group of around 200. I was pretty nervous as there was virtually no sound design to this point, some very unbalanced shots color wise, and other things. We pushed to have something to show for this though as we thought it would be a good gauge on if we were headed in the right direction. We received many compliments afterwards and it seems to have been very well received. Definite confidence booster :)

it's nice to read that the sound design will fall in good hands. I must say I've been busy a lot last few weeks. (Mostly sound for news....oh and on the airport also :-p)

Hey Dre, Yah we are happy to have someone like Alan on board as well. bummed you weren't able to work on it but such is life.

It's 4 AM in my area.... :-p

And I'm doing some Foley and SFX editing ..... Alan has put a curse on me.... :-p

Updated our timeline a little, we are currently looking for someone to cut a trailer for us. If you or anyone you know might be interested we would love to talk!

Alright we got our final sound mix as well as our color grade back today and now we are just putting the finishing touches on and putting it all together!
