I took a video of an event in February. It was snowing and raining a bit. After a while I was having trouble hitting the record button. About hours after I came home, it was fine and it continued to work well until yesterday. The camera decided to not want to record after shooting for a while. Once I put it to pre-record to see if that work and it did. I then put it back to the standard record mode and it stopped working again. Put it to pre-precord afterards and now that's not working either. While checking it today, it's still unable to record when I hit the record button. The water must have messed something up. Still, this is the back record buttom. I never used the one at the top of the unit and it's actually not working. Is their an option to enable that or is it messed up as well? I figured it would be fine if the back button doesn't work as long as I can use the top button. For all I know, perhaps the battery is the culprit. Any thoughts on what I can do besides sending it to a repair shop?
While in Las Vegas in 2014, the battery case came apart and so I had to use electrical tape to put it together. Tried to get Panasonic to replace it while the camera was under warranty but with no luck since they said the battery itself only came with a 10 day warranty.
This is really giving me a headache. Had this camera since around December of 2012. Never had issues until recently.
