F55: Has anyone tested recording 4k with atomos shogun

I've now tried recording UHD to the shogun from the HDMI cable on the FS7 body, but the only options I have are 1080p (and 2k in prores). The above posts seem to indicate that I should be getting UHD. Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong? I have the latest firmware in both the camera (2.0) and the Shogun (6.2). I've attempted to record in S-Log 3 to XAVC-I and Prores.

Thanks for not spesifying the datarates...

However inorder to have some sense in recording 4k raw at 60p one would have to go for sonys solution, since you end up paying enormous amounts of extra money well wasted with 7qs drives.

I tested the atomos and 7q+ side by side and noticed that atomos has quite a few advantages, it is super comfortable to use, has more resolution, is lighter, has dc, and most importantly full sized hdmi.
On colors the greens were little low on saturation on atomos and on 7q+blues were off and the yellows were bleeding a little. Overall the atomos suprisingly had better picture quality than the oled 7q+ when both displays were running the same hd signal via hd-sdi. The HDMI input was not showing on any 7q+ menus so the only option was to go with hd-sdi, maybe it was a firmware issue, who knows, don't care actually hence i hate small hdmi ports.

The build quality on both recorders looked pretty bad, but what can you expect with that kind of a bargain...

That could explain the greenish cast on the Atomos.. maybe they cranked up the green to compensate for a lack of chromasticity saturation in the green primary?

You are entitled to your opinion, but I must say that you are the first person I have heard report that he preferred the other unit's image over that of the Odyssey. There are settings in the OLED menu to adjust the panel, perhaps this was necessary in this case. BTW, we're actually expanding these controls further with our next firmware release.

As for the build quality of the Odyssey7Q+, we have only had rave reviews up until now. The casing is a magnesium alloy which is both strong and lightweight. The Shogun case is plastic.
