Hand Sanitizer available now

Surgical anti bacteriological soap is better than 70% alcohol wash BUT and this is a very big BUT most soaps that are available generally are not this sort of soap.

"A drop of ordinary soap diluted in water is sufficient to rupture and kill many types of bacteria and viruses, including the new coronavirus that is currently circling the globe. The secret to soap’s impressive might is its hybrid structure." --- Why Soap Works, The New York Times

Thanks, I just ordered 6. This is very helpful when having to be out at grocery store and get in car, or when away from a sink, etc.

Regarding soap/water, I made the mistake once of thinking hand sanitizer could replace soap/water and it got me very sick when travelling. I got norovirus, and only later learned hand sanitizer doesn't kill norovirus... I believe the same goes for many strains of cold/flu. Their branding even says this "kills 99% of many bacteria" - omitting *all* bacteria, or viruses. Also their branding states "when you can't get to soap and water, [this] can help". The words are chosen with intent.

So, yeah, hand sanitizer can offer a false sense of security... so instruct loved ones that it doesn't replace hand washing... but it can help when you can't get to a thorough hand/soap wash!

Thanks much for sharing! Appreciate it.

I made a couple of litres of hand sanitizer when this crisis began. It works really well, though my hands feel rough as an old pair of boots!

Drive-through and home delivery are still available.
Drive through weddings, drive through funerals. Drive through car wash, drive through banking.
Drive through food, drive through liquor stores.

Why not Drive Thru Strippers™? Live streamed, of course (puredrifting?). I think I have found my next career.
Greg and Run&Gun, shall we launch a new start up??? Club Pandemic Drive Thru? Survives all health scares, all economies...

I bet there’s a decent market for it. I know in Greensboro, there’s a stripper car/truck wash.

That name is catchy... Club Pandemic.

Should I just skip over the obvious jokes about the Happy Meal... ; )

Regarding supply chain issues; it was mentioned in other threads that production of products is optimized for a certain rate of consumption and new demand can't be easily met or ramped up. A report on the news tonight shows just how bad it can be. Clorox has been ramping up it's production all this time and as of today, it can only produce 40% more than what it did two months ago. They said the demand is up 500% and they will not be at that level until the summer.

Received this last week, and used it for the first time yesterday. When it dried, it was very sticky. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes I noticed the stickiness, then after drying another minute or 2 the sticky went away. But I notice when you wash your hands later you feel a slick coating washing off. But I'm so glad to have found it that I have no major complaints.

Same here, I have to run my hands under water after and then it all comes off. (Haven't used it while out yet.)

Uh, that sounds terrible, the sticky and having coated hands. Most of the commercial retail hand sanitizers are messy, inconvenient to use
and a lot of them do leave a residue.

Why not go to my friend, Aaron Bergh's website, he is a craft distiller who has added hand sanitizer to his lineup
to survive the pandemic. I have a spray bottle of it here, it's super handy, spray your hands down, rub them together and it
evaporates in a few seconds, it's a liquid, so it has Glycerin and Hydrogen Peroxide in it but no goopy Glycerin residue and as a bonus, because he makes it in his still, it has
the slight odor of his spiced Rum, which smells really nice if you like a cocktail.

It's the best hand sanitizer on the market as far as I am concerned and it's the handiest for when you are working on set or shopping.
I have two other bottles of the traditional, goopy, Glycerin-lotion like stuff and if it's all you can get, it works. But my friends product is superior.

As a bonus, you are helping to support a true craft distiller whose business has been decimated by the pandemic, he does
a real tourist trade at his tasting room up in Wine country, Paso Robles, Ca. and with no tourists, he's been scrambling to stay afloat.

Went to a (different) supermarket yesterday. Hand wipes are available on the way in and the way out. Yes, they're sticky post-use but you can also get a sheet of paper towel from a store employee to get rid of the residue.

There was only one entrance/exit too instead of the two - one was locked from the inside for the entry and blocked by shopping carts for anyone thinking of leaving through it - to place that store employee at that strategic, visible location. It was near the old wipe dispenser/cart handle cleaner anyway.

Yeah, I'm not digging how this leaves a very thick and sticky coating on your hands. Aloe Vera actually does this when you put it on your hands in pure form, so I wonder if it's more the aloe vera rather than the glycerin. Of course, it's probably better for your skin than the formulas that dry super quickly. Any alcohol formulation that dries super quickly is definitely also drying out your skin pores in the process.
