Sorry to sound lazy .. but
can someone tell me about lens behavior on this camera?
Specifically,
- Is the aperture manually controllable?
- Does the aperture setting drift in sync with zoom action?
- Anyone know if Century is making WA adapters specifically for this lens?

Andy - So far i like it a lot. haven't been out there to really push it. we're using it in some specific applications where the size is the best part about it. as well as the direct to .mov

Zeph - the aperture is manually controllable but kind of awkward in how that works. i haven't tested enough to notice the drift question.

It has apperture control through button and tiny wheel on camera back. It works but not very convenient if you want a fast adjustment. I used it to control DoF during July 4th fireworks shooting with good result.

It stays the same. Actually it shows you an aperture value.

I use Nikon WC-E68 lens - it can be mounted instead of hood and it has a good result from wide up to middle zoom. In high zoom it has a significant color distortion.

I highly would not recommend this camera. I had it for a week and really really really wanted to like it, but there's too many flaws. I loved the audio controls and the way the mic handle is set up (and able to be so easily removed), but it has major strobing when doing pans, and the OIS is HORRIBLE!

It uses the XDCAM codec which gives a nice sharp crisp picture, but I prefer the more cinematic look that Panasonic delivers. Nonetheless, the strobing and OIS were too craptastic for me to consider keeping the camera.

Also, the fact that you have to flip a switch to use the ring for focus or zoom just plain sucks. The point of the small form factor is to make it easier and more appealing for on the go documentary work enthusiast, but that switching of the ring makes the job so much harder.

I know there are lots of people praising the camera out there. I got very stoked from a bunch of those praises, as well, but I really encourage anyone interested in buying it to actually use it hands on before making the purchase.
