Your "PC" doesn't really provide any information.

Give us details on what PC, OS version number, etc. Also, what drivers you've installed and exactly what you have done to try to mount the card.

For example, when you refer to "PC" I think Windows. However, you are using firewire connect, which points to a Mac.

You need to clarify what you are doing with what.

Daniel,
It sounds like you need to spend a little bit of time familiarizing yourself with the workflow. I highly highly recommend that you get a hold of Barry Green's HVX book, it should come with the camera if purchased from an authorized dealer inside of the united states and should not be hard to track down if you don't have one.

First of all are you using a Mac or a PC?
If you are using a pc you need to set your camera to USB Device (under Other Functions>PC Mode) and use a USB cable as this is the recommended method of downloading off the camera on a pc.
If you are using a Mac then you must make sure your camera is set to 1394 Device(not host)

Next you need to make sure your computer has the p2 drivers installed on it. the drivers come in a CD with the camera or you can download it from panasonic's website.

Once you have done these things, connecting the camera to the computer and then setting the camera on PC mode by switching it to MCR mode and then holding the button down for a few more seconds until it switches to p2 mode.

At this point you should be able to see the p2 cards inside the camera as removable hard drives in your computer.
You can drag the contents and last clip.txt files to a folder of your liking, then use an editing program of yoru choice to edit the footage.

You'll need FCP 5.1 or above to reliably import p2 footage. Simply go to import>p2 and point it to the folder you copied your files to, or if you have fcp 6.0 or above, the same can be achieved under Log and Transfer.

Adobe Premiere CS3 can edit mxf files natively, I think with CS2 and bellow you need a third party programs such as cineform to convert the mxf to avi.

I believe Sony vegas edits p2 footage natively, and I'm not sure about Avid.

thanke you gusy. i have windows xp. and im getting a mac book proe in a couple of days.. so i dont use the firewire with pc? jsut mac? and nice im gonna get cs3 ihave pro 2 of premiere. andim gonna get the final cut 6 :D how you like this camera? and to make a much more professional work should i work 24p or 24pn? thank you guys:D

Daniel,
The difference between 24p and 24pn is not one of quality, but rather of data efficiency. One mode (native) only records whatever frames your frame rate is set to (24 frames if set to 24pn, 12 frames if set to 12, ect) this means you can fit more data into a p2 card since you're only recording the exact amount of frames you are using.
On 24p the camera still records the exact same quality and footage, but records 60 frames per second (59.97) and flags the correct 24 frames. This is the way the Varicam does it. Why shoot in this mode? because there are some features that are no available when you are shooting in the native mode (Such as the 3second pre record buffer or loop recording)

I still highly recommend you get a hold of Barry Green's HVX book and give it a through read. All of these topics and many other questions you still have not ran into have already been throughly covered in that book.

Good luck
