Gunstock grip

I user an old Photo Sniper gunstock grip that is about 40 years old and looks killer. I gridned off the tip and installed a mounting plate for the camera. Stabilizes me pretty well and makes the camera much more fun to shoot with. Only downside is when the cops pull up and give you a wierd look.

There's also the Manfrotto Modo Steady which could act a bit like a gun stock as well as mini tripod and Merlin-type stabilizer. I bought one for about $87 plus fee shipping and no tax from Amazon.

I am using my above DIY gunstock mount...of course I am probably replacing it in most situations with the indifocus DSLRsm that is waiting for me at home as we speak. 5:00 get here sooner.

I've gotten great results from my cheap tripod (cullman video magic) and using it as a free steadycam... holding it at the equalized point with my right hand then holding the lens and zooming in and out with my left hand. Can get tiring after a while of course.
