Grindhouse.....split

I haven't hid my opinion of RR

I ahve always embraced his enthusiasm for filmmaking but have found his entires nothing to wrote home about

SIN CITY is the first film he's done where I sat and took notice of his prowness. There moments in PT where I can see he is confident and really showing us some some chops

At the same time; getting rid of the silly elements would help

I'm not giving up; I'll reserve another project too see where he takes us ; and no, SIN CITY 2 does not count

But see... I think that's what I like about his films. Their lightness.... their silliness...

Again, I guess it's just a subjective thing... Honestly I saw Sin City, didn't like it too much. It felt "off" for an RR film. It didn't have the energy or fun of an RR film. IMO :)

Both those films made me want to puke. Neither one was of any lasting importance as far as I am concerned. Both were flavor to the day guts and gore with absolutely no substance behind them.
I'll say one thing about Hostel, that I can't say about more than one or two other films... It made me flinch.

I just got a check for jury duty for 17 dollars and four cents. I'm going to cash it, grab the $5.00 off coupon that came with my death proof DVD, and buy Planet Terror. Then I will revel in its glory.

If you go forward in time and buy Planet Terror and then go back in time you can save $5.00 on Death proof before you buy it.

I've never had to use the bathroom as bad in my life as I did when I saw Grindhouse. It was so intense that I held it for a little over 3 hours. I would've been on the edge of my seat even if it wasn't a great experience. I also had to sell my trampoline when I got home.

Anyways, first time viewers should watch the thing in its entirety. I don't know if I could sit through the whole thing again, but I could definitely watch Death Proof again. And Planet Terror for that matter, just not back-to-back.

i wasnt going to buy the split up dvds on their own but i did have to get PT and guess what just as i thought, @ the end of the 10min film school RR says there will be another version of the grindhouse experience that will include 10min cooking school. I knew there was going to be a proper set, but we could have it much sooner than anticipated.

Obviously! I am making this sacrifice in order to make the world a better place. Hell, who even knows if time travel in the past can even change anything, or is possible, let alone coming back to the future. But that is what I am willing to do for humanity.

EDIT: WOAH, did a mod just delete his own post?

True that

But yours was inflmmatory and kind of Trollish and rude considering it pertained to knocking up his mom. We get it; you don't like RR.

Admittance is the first step. Kings power baby.

His films are an event. I love his work.

Whether it's the opening to DP with homegirl holding her crotch or the Jungle Julia mimic. Don't like Quentin ?

PISS OFF ! :D :D

Is this a Giallo reference? Haven't seen the film yet.

Most threads have jokes like that, maybe not about time traveling to knock up somebody's mom, but crass jokes about a movie/director none the less. I have no issue with RR as a person, maybe he is a little 'slimey' for leaving his wife and kids for Rose McGowan, but then again, I am as likely to high five him for that.

Fine, RR has escaped my 'wrath' this time, but members of the Bay clan will not be so lucky.

LOL

Rose ? If you're gonna leave your wife; why go for Rose ?

Bay

Waiting for him to do SOMETHING serious that does not look like a music video

Yet

I totally love Pearl Harbor; I personally would have went for a more simplistic visual appoach and not so stylized, but the Attack is rad.

I also enjoy Armegeddon

It's popcorn with extra fat butter

I didn't say I would not; but ouch ... comparing an aged wife to a young actress ? Everyone ages.

Yeah, but Elizabeth is almost 10 years older than RR and pushing 50, and he is still a fairly handsome guy, not to mention rich and successful, so the fact that this happened didn't surprise me in the least. Rose isn't that young either, she's 34.
