Jim, after seeing images like this and those of the screening, I along with everyone else who receives a Red One owes you a fat box of cubans!

I now have most of the greenscreen shots up on my mirror. Please feel free to use it. I think I have 997 gig's of bandwidth left for this month, so I ain't hurtin too bad.

Jim,

I hope your ready for the OSCARs next year for Technical Achievement for RED 1.
Nah, they have to look down on him and the whole RED team for a decade or two before realizing it really was a good idea and then honoring him/them.

As cool as it is getting all these behind the scenes photos of RED testing from Jarred, I'm not sure that he should be left alone on set...

Post it anyway. I wanna see the comparison. (Mine's just PS with Magic-Wand anyway)

Matthew Bennett, do you like Devon Aoki? I just spoke to her about an hour ago. Should I tell her you say hi next time I see her? Or just wait till Red is out and you can chroma yourself right next to her... It seens it just might be good enough for you to feel her touch you (now wether it is a kiss of a slap on the face that you feel, that is up to your "skills")

PS: Jarred finally lost it? Must be the wait for Red making him inpatient

Yeah, I concure. Both RGB_4.tif and RGB_4half.tif are only 22MB. (not 74MB like the rest)

I'm getting an incomplete file error.

Then again if you look at the CML page you can see that a portion of the files & thumbnails are missing. I'm guessing the upload was interrupted.

Good. I was seeing the same thing with the 22 meg files. Some of the x'd out pics were still downloadable though. Others were not. I am just finishing getting the last two on the mirror right now

I just got back from the San Francisco Autodesk Systems Demonstration. They were projecting/keying/masking/color grading/editing a great deal of 35mm origin 2k DPX files... and you know what? I just sat there the whole time thinking to myself: "That would be infinitely easier to key if you had shot that on RED." "Wow... that's really soft." "What's with the lack of resolution?" "So much grain screwing up that key."

Another thing I noticed: they were trying to clean up an actress' face in an example, and I was thinking to myself "Most of that is just grain."

I think actresses may be the newest proponent of the silky smooth RED. Personally I think the grain free look is much more flattering and doesn't accent every pore. Which I guess is opposite of the commonly held view on HD.
