Green Screen 2

I wouldn't worry about making the outside look brighter relative to the inside. I think it's perfectly normal to bounce light inside. Even though it's not natural, it's common enough that we're used to seeing a nice balance between the interior and exterior shots.

That looked really good, I'm quite impressed. Makes me want to order one... DAMN YOU JOHN!

Compositing was very nice, John  But... I didn't buy it. Honestly, I didn't believe they were driving in a car for a second, because of the background perspective.

The Chihuahua T1000 was killer, I was expecting John... errr your son to shoot its arm off and then throw it out of a window, but that didn't happen

Not even on the SECOND DOLLY shot starting from the Rear and moving forward? Just for a second?

This is the second dolly shot you're talking about. It starts off good (1st grab), then after about half second it seems like the background camera pans up (2nd grab) and we quickly end up with just the sky shot (3rd grab), that would not be possible with the current car camera perspective - horisont has to be visible.

Double checked each cut and took ss just in case and in each of them it looks like it's a plane rather than a car judging by the background with it's house roofs and palm tops :undecided

But I still think green screening, except for minor artifacts on silouhettes, was nice. Gotta get myself one too

The problem is really just the footage you used. Next time go out and shoot some stuff as you drive, should be good enough :)

I like how you made the "sun ray" effect go by like they were taking a corner. did you just a light keyframed lensflare?

Ironically, the sun flare you are seeing is the real deal. As the dooly moved the sun glanced off of the roof of my Frontier. I played with a lens flare for about 5 seonds but was in no mood to key frame the sequence; on second thought the best answer would have been "Hand keyed in Vegas!"

HAHAHAHAHAHA Thats ****ing RAD! the songs awesome, the kids awesome, the chicks awesome, that ****in dog is da shizzle...dude its fun man, i watch like 3 times. that part where your wife is chewing gum/singing and kinda bobin around is hot, did you have music goin in the car when you did that? or is her moving from you rocking the car?

i love how its like him and his mom are out fishin for puppies or somethin..with him danglin the leash out the window..then tada...the taco bell dog shows up. its coo man, its coo.

LOL

Thanks Rich. I was bobbin the car and singing the Strawberry23 song to her. Jared was pretending he was fishing (funny you mentioned that); that dog is crazy. His name is Cabo San Lucas Hudson (Our honeymoon spot)

Awesome! Glad you digged it!

That was a jean jacket being waved overhead by my wife; she was like "I feel lame doing this" and I said "Honey! Trust my vision!"

LOL

10 out-of 10 for that one. The things we do eh?
J.P.

LOL

The goal now is:

1. Lighting
2. Comp
3. Angle of Auto to Background plate
4. Atmosphere efects; wind and shadows
5. Cool tunes
6. Dialogue

I really want to do a FRONT VIEW one though; now that would be a challenge but I do have enough fabric to shoot against.

You're missing some spill supression on green, I can see lot of green coming back in subject.

Ulisses
