That is HYSTERICAL!!!! It was also well done, but the Chihuahua cracked me up.

I was however disappointed that we didn't get a good "tilt down" shot of the wife....

Thanks for watching Matt.

LOL

She reluctantly agreed to this. I learned alot on this one.

The dolly shots really seemed to work; I was surprised; they have a surreal feel to them.

Not following you. Do you need info on creating a mp4 instead of mp2? If so, what are you using for encoding?

Hansk

I have an MP4 file I want to post instead of this one here. Usually, I just use this code for .mov files:

<a href="movies/GS2QT.mov" target="_blank"><img src="images/GS2i.jpg" border=0></a>

But when I replace .mov with the .mp4 extension it does not recognize. I use Sorenson and have the MP$ on my desktop and in my FTP Files; but it wont read it.

Avatuar, I'll do a quick schematic as I have no 'behind the scenes' picks.

Heh heh... John - We are playing cat & mouse between forums!

Ok, so what exactly occurs when you click on the URL when the filename has the .mp4 extension?

Just goes to a 'Dead PAge' 'File Cannot be Found'
That indicates that the link is bad. As a test, place your .mp4 file in the same location on the server that the .mov file is located. Then change your url that currently works from:

  • "http: //outlandpictures.com/movies/GS2QT.mov"
to
  • "http: //outlandpictures.com/movies/GS2QT.mp4"
Note, I added space after the colons above so these don't really link. Also, make sure the filename's letter case in the URL matches that of your actual file.

If you do this and the file still can not be found, then something is really wonky.

awesome work john...
I loved how the shadows passed over the little guy when trees past.. that's what made it more realistic for me

Chihuaha was classic :D
too bad Matt ruined the surprise when I scrolled down a bit before watching :(

Damn you Matt. :cheesy:

Thanks Lloyd; The shadows did sell that one particular clip; it was a jean jacket of his my wife was waving over him; guerilla style. I think I'm going to keep doing this until I can TOTALLY sell it.

I went to Properties and then Security and all say "Allow" (Attributes)
Jeesh, your server is giving you no love. Sorry, I'm at a loss as to why it's not serving it up for you.

Hmm, as one crazy last attempt. Rename your file so that its extension is .mov insted of .mp4 then try the link. Note, your player (QT) probably won't show it correctly if the link works. But, at least if the .mov file is found that indicates that .mp4 files/links are not being handled correctly by your server.

I too loved the shadows! More more more! Here's the one critique I want to make- It feels like she's doing a wheelie on her left wheels because the background shots are aiming up at trees and rooftops while the foreground shots aim slightly down.

Also, the angle of the sun in the background (sun was behind the camera) didn't match the sun angle in the foreground (sun was in front of the camera). This becomes even more apparent when the car that shot the background made a turn. Maybe you can shoot a new background shot with the camera aiming west (angled about 15-20° down, and slightly towards the rear of the car) about an hour or two before sunset. I'd be really curious to see how that affects the feel!

One more comment for the future (too late to fix in post). How about a fan blowing her hair?

question, who was the chick. if its your wife, she's an attractive female, if its not, she's HAWT. i dig chicks that wear tank tops with no bras!

:D
