grading test

ok ok, here it is. :) please don't ask me how to use it, it's in the manual for picture control utility. i use it with the portrait setting since it's the same as the neutral with just that little bit of extra saturation i think it needs.

Have you campared how much the D90 is compressing your custom curve shots vs the presets? I'm finding the bit rate on my footage varies from 7mbits to 25mbits
i've tried to find a pattern but i'm afraid i can't really tell since i never shot the exact same scene with different presets. what i have been able to tell is that it's never dropped below 10 since i started using this curve, and i'm fairly sure i got 7 or so once in a while before especially in low key scenes.

So Matt would you be willing to meet for a cup of coffe/tea or whatever and go over some of this stuff in person?

He he he...

You should only have known what an elaborate scheme I was planning but I decided to spare you the Drama...Anyway, I miss you & love you & your work!

I have a project you might be interested in being a part of as Director. When you get back I will get you a copy to take a look at then we can hook up for a chat.

Enjoy the beautiful weather & your wonderful Wife!

Ciao Bello!

In addition to boosting saturation do you drop sharpening? How much do you boost saturation, and how much do you reduce sharpening (assuming you do)?

I use the portrait mode defaults except for the curve. It's actually low saturation, but higher than the neutral setting.

Dear Matt

I must have been doing something wrong since the camera will not recognize your tmtslocon.ntc file.

I have created on my SD card the following folders:

NIKON-CUSTOMPC-tmtslocon.ntc
Other option was to rename your file: NIKON-CUSTOMPC-PICCON01.NCP

In both cases no luck.

Am I missing a step?

Many thanks!!

Johnnie
