I picked up my very own HVX yesterday late afternoon from VTP in Burbank. So much nicer when you have your own! :nads:
Now I wonder how long it will be for the rebate items...

When did the HVX start coming with 5400mAh batteries? Just ordered two 5600s but I might have been able to get by with one... hmmmm... no, I bet I'll be happy about the third one some day soon... (especially since I only have one charger!)

I've been waiting for three weeks now, and it hurts waiting for the P2 to unleash the full power of this baby. But it's well worth it.
 
Hey Siniarch! Yea, just the camera untill tomorow, that's when I get my case, and then the tripod an order of batteries and a bag o' goodies from B&H... can't wait
 
Congrats USLatin!

I just got my HVX from Spec Comm on the 26th. I plugged into the component imput of my plasma TV and was very pleased with the quality :)

I mailed off the rebate info on the 27th and am hoping for a quick return. I am still going to get the HVX Bootcamp DVD in a couple of days to help me get the best out of the camera.

That's what I did rather than wait for Barry's book (it's due any day now, along with my free 8GB P2 card). The DVD is very informative and helped me get going with the camera right away. It's was well worth the hurrry!
 
I also had a problem that might be somewhat common when registering mine in... the number to be entered must be entered WITHOUT the R in the end, and since we might be fumbling to enter it as quick as possible but at the same time refusing to let go of the camera and typing with out elbows it is easy to skip those lines telling you to exclude it right below the box where you enter it

Here's what I know about mine:

1) I applied for the card/book rebate on 11/8
2) A few weeks later my "process date" appeared on the rebate site: 11/22
3) I got the original invoice request letter on 12/15
4) I didn't have it (accidentally tossed), so I emailed Jan Crittenden and called Full Compass (where I bought it). FC sent me a replacement invoice. I sent it to Ms Burks at the rebate center on 12/18.
5) Curiosity having gotten to me, I called Ms Burks yesterday and left a message asking about it.
6) She called me back today and very courteously told me everything was ok and that my card/book will ship tomorrow UPS ground from Memphis.

So...theoretically...I'll have it here in NYC by Tuesday or so!

We'll see : )
 
I got mine yesterday, Jan 8th. I applied for it on the site on Nov 8th, so my official poll entry was "longer/ouch". It took 61 days, which is 8 weeks and 5 days. I'm not complaining though - for a free $1200 item it arrived fast enough.

I'll bet they get there in less time for those who bought later now that the system's up and running smoothly.

Sent in my original invoice on Dec 20th, got my 8GB card and book today!

Very surprised and excited to receive everything so quickly. Thank You Panasonic and Barry Green!
