Hi Guys,

So I figured, some of you guys owning the T2i would like to see some videos with a stabilizer. I put together a 3 part video for those who would like to learn more about the Glidecam HD stabilizers. I hope you guys will find it useful. Just some information for those with the Kit lens and T2i. The T2i with the kit lens is really light, so it would only work properly on a Glidecam HD-1000, The setup I have in the video works really well on the HD-2000, but also works with the HD-4000 on its lowest settings. So for those guys that have matte boxes, and other accessories on their rigs, I would really suggest the HD-4000. I hope you guys find it helpful. Part 3 has the results:

Part 1 (Explaining Stabilizers and the Glidecam HD-Series stabilizers):

Part 2 (Balancing the T2i with the HD-4000):

Part 3 (Balanced Unit with Results):

Enjoy guys, and let me know if you guys would like to know more. I owned the HD-1000 for my HV30 setup and now I have the HD-4000 for my T2i. My friend owns the HD-2000 for his T2i with the kit lens and some accessories.

Cool. I'll check it out. I own the HD-2000. I was thinking about getting one of those stabilizer vest sometime in the future.

Cool. Thanks for doing all that work! I haven't seen these quite so up close before. Now I want one!

I know it's a crazy, lopsided idea, but I'm almost tempted to mount a light fluid head on top of the HD-4000. You could lock it for typical Steadicam uses and then use it as a run & gun tripod / monopod w/ fluid head when in a pinch. Kill two birds with one stone.

That might actually work, but would make stabilization more difficult unless you can take the handle off of the fluid head. The HD-4000 is not 100% stable when it is standing, but it is a lot better than just hand held footage.

That is FANTASTIC! I've ordered the Glidecam HD4000 Kit 1 Stabilizer System from B&H. I'm not very familiar with these (except that I HATE my handheld footage with my HVX200 when attempting to walk, and thus have wanted something like this for a long time). I suppose I should have asked opinions on my purchase to see if it's a good deal for the money.

What do you think?

Hey,
Just got the gide cam 4000 pro and the T2i.
(for now) I'm using the 50mm-.... canon "kit lens".
I am having a terrible time balancing it.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Someone said you should put wait at the top, but where? If the cameras in the middle, Wouldn't it throw the rig off?
