FS7: Girl N Gun

Interesting to check the grade on that 2004 still of mine and see the gun above.. not much changed.. just I can start to do it in video with resolve and the FS7

These look great.

I very much like the first of the three you posted, the rolloff on the skin is great, the second is a bit green but that could be the intent, the fluro look, and the 3rd is great, although not as good as the one of her in the similar scene before (with the touch of blue too)

Are these pure grades or are you playing with masks as well?

cheers
Paul

The second is 'green' (on purpose) and it comes before the last scene that is red. I like it (ish) in that Ive tried to get full sat and richness without going up to 'daytime TV' levels of saturation.

The third is supposed to be night time lit by a tungsten bulb.

(actually I have 100w Daylight bulbs to swap in to the practical lamp)

Im thinking that I messed that up because ideally id like to lift her face and if I had flagged the wall then 'night' would have been better communicated.

'Flagging' the wall down in post is not straightforward due to subsequent movement in the shot.

Girl and Gun
Goddard would be proud! :)

In any case, nice work. I like the grades and textures. Locations and production design is on point!

I thought you did some lovely GoPro work there. And that's not something I ofrten find myself about those little bastards.

As an aside I recently bought a Sony 4k Action Cam thingy. With enough light it's surprisingly decent.

Under bottom bracket was GoPro - gears and handle bars are nex5n - surprisingly good- shallow dof look still using it until the small bmc comes out

Good work, I like it.

I can imagine it being one of those 70's public information films about driving in poor weather conditions. I have the voice over in my head already... :-)

Premiered at a small indy cinema in Britsol last night.

As always full house, big sound design and a big screen win as the best way to experience ones work.

The FS7.. it really looked pretty damn good, even the thin exposed Gh4 shots kept the audience hooked.. in fact the shadow noise was less on the big screen!

iphone pics!
