Did you unzip the file? You put the enclosed .bin on the SD card.

FYI ive been sitting here for past 3 hours , so no need to say Oh gotta have battery fully charged, gotta be on root of sd card yadda yadda yadda, not tryin to be rude or mean im just bout to explode.
 
So I'm about to edit/grade an interview I rashly decided to shoot with V-LOG L (living on the wild side!). Instead of trying to figure out exposure, I decided to use the Portrait profile to determine proper exposure, and then switched to V-LOG L before recording. I'm not looking for magic in the extra range (those two extra steps are noisy!), just more choices in how I push those 12 stops back down to 10/9.
 
ok so now im really confused. You say Dont unzip the other guy says unzip. Ones ive downloaded have zips others dont its just .bin file.

Did a test where I cranked up NR to +5 and sharpness to +5 (which I'd never do on another profile). The results with V-log though were surprisingly good. Still some color artifacts if you pixel peep and push the grade but less grainy overall. If I had to shoot 8-bit internal v-log, I'd use that setting.

EDIT:

Only looks good at asa 400. Start pushing the ASA up and the NR artifacts look progressively worse.

yeah ive done that I already got the 2.3 Firmware from pannys site earlier, I connected to Image app on my cell phone And i dont see VLOG L ANYWHERE.....

Just click on DISP and you will see a dialog with the video profiles. You have to be in the Movie Mode for it to work.
 
I'm about to leave work and shoot some footage with my early release software that I already paid for :grin: ! It's kinda like Christmas early! I do encourage everyone to pony up the dead Benjamin to Panasonic so they can have a development budget to add the features we all want in the GH5.

You connect the camera (direct wifi is best unless you have a very strong signal on both camera and device from a wifi router), go to remote operation in the app. Hit the QMenu button in the bottom right corner. Select Photo Style. Then V-Log L.
 
yeah , Im so confused on why i dont have the option. Ive followed directions to the T on every single tutorial there is.

Are you using a Sandisk 64 GB 95MB/s card? Never could update my GH4s' firmware with those. Could be a Mac thing because I've never heard it widely discussed. Think I may have had issues with the 32 GB versions too, but don't remember. Slower cards never seem to have this issue.

Not sure if I'll use V-Log L but if so I will pay for the update.
