GH4 Scores 74 on DxO!

not much of an improvement, barely scores higher and has worse low light performance for sports than the gh3... i thought it was going to be on another level. Also much more expensive than every other model compared so it should easily win, not barely

The dynamic range compares favorably with other sensors. Not in the range of Sony's new FF sensors, but competitive to Canon's FF 5D II and III. I don't know how much of that range makes it to video though, we shall see. Sony's FF sensors are pretty awesome for stills. After NAB, GH4 is still on my buy list. Love that you get the full 4K because in post, I'm finding that we have to crop in about 10% to 15% a lot of the time. Makes a great camera for 1080p delivery.

The Sony A6000 scores a lot more with 8mp more and 180 PDAF pixels on sensor.Wait till you see the next gen Sony 4/3 sensors, although it won't be making into any panasonic bodies.

I have to say, thats pretty poor, I wasn't expecting a massive jump, but a change of sensor to their own, the advances in technology - yet the same pixel pitch, I was hoping for more.

At least it isn't worse :)

To be fair Panasonic never really claimed to have a vastly improved sensor. The GH4 is more about its feature set which includes 4k, higher bitrates and true 10bit HDMI or HD-SDI, focus peaking, great image control and so forth. If you are buying a Gh4 strictly for sensor improvements you are buying it for the wrong reasons.
