Yes, being following the patches also and I am a bit loss also. It has become so technical I would like to get a bit more layman terms or explanation. Like when everybody says better quantization does it mean that the grain is smaller, better defined or something completely different like less banding, macro block etc. I am on quantum v2 now and just would like to know if there is any benefit, I like to push and grade my shots so any improvement would be nice.
just tested all three settings.
shutter 60
iso 400
stopped down to 4.0
24p good for 2mins on death chart.
1080i stopped at 1:46 on death chart.
720p good for 2mins on death chart.
all 3 played back in cam. even the 1080i.
oddly, your version of driftwood's v7 didn't freeze up, whereas his did.
i still like his v3 better, but his 1080i/720p freeze up on the death chart.
I have a "library" of standard Class 10, 20mb/s. Anyone have a recommendation for a moderate slowmotion patch? I realize its a little off topic, but I figure most people in here are familiar with the other slowmotion patches. Spanning would be a bonus, but frankly if I can get up too 5min SOLID per clip, im happy.
I'm still waiting, pool side, to invest in a few 64 95s... just cant justify them over good glass at the moment.
Thanks in advance... P.S. Link those Vid samples, I gotta have a look!![]()
how long are 4G of 24H with Quantom 7?
Thanks Sage
appreciate the effort to put the video.
looks very promising indeed!
can you please shed some light about the difference between the 24H footage on various Quantum versions?
as Papa asks, What are the advantages of shooting with this new hack? Is it better for 24p in either H or L modes?
where will i spot the improvement? you said V7 is the best 24H yet.
thanks for explaining.so you're saying that in V7 he minimized the bitrate drop even further? When will he stop trying and decide it's the best?
Got the two 64gb Sandisk cards in from JR Electronics .Authentic cards. Spanning in full quality mode now and getting some 720/60P. At least 1:30 so far.
Few more odds and ends and I'll have a complete kit.
Thanks for the patch, Sage.
