I have bought an OM adaptor and a couple of Tamron lenses (£20 each) for my GH2 but am I going the right way. Should I opt for Nikon or Canon lenses after all they are equally inexspensive on Ebay. I am no pro by any means but i would like to get the best out of my camera ......... without breaking the bank.

You can go most any way.

I love my OM Zuikos (28/2.8, 50/1.4, 100/2.8, 135/2.8, 200/4). Not ridiculously sharp, and a little difficult to de-click, but the focus rings have just the right amount of resistance and throw distance, IMO. Downside is the relative lack of variety in available decent lenses.

I've tried the FD's and Nikons and simply didn't find enough reason to switch

Just need some reasurance that I am going to dig myself into a hole with the gaer I am using.

OM 50mm 1.8
Tamron 70-210
Tamron 35-70
Tamron 28mm 2.8

They all work very well but very heavy compared to the stock Lumix lens ............... never mind the weight look at the money your saving LOL.

I opted for Nikon F mount lenses because it is easy to find adapters for almost any camera body. ( I may switch camera bodies down the road )

I'm with Dingo. Since I can't afford PL mount cine lenses, I'm going with all Nikon mount lenses so that they can be used with future bodies/ formats AND retain their value. Now if I run into some inexpensive (but quality) vintage glass-- I'll still be open to that. Because they have their own look that some directors might prefer.

Btw, I didn't know anything about this OM mount Olympus line of legacy lenses. How do they look?

I love my Canon FD 50mm f1.4 lens on my GH2. Very sexy image, long focus throw with hard stops, fast as heck. Got it on eBay for only $80 in mint condition.
