gh2 price increase

Today I try to order another gh2 on panasonic direct. Body only increase from $630 to $680! Omg! I'm so sadder!
 
Unless you are willing to trade higher cortisol levels for lower prices on a 1 to 1 basis, don't even go near Panasonic Direct. Their customer service is awful and 1-3 days really means 1-3 months. I eventually cancelled with them and bought from B&H when the in-stock tracker webpage showed they had them in. Many posts on PD already..
 
Yes PD seems to have pretty terrible service. If you arent that concerned about the difference between getting a GH2 at a really great price and not getting one at all, then it might be the place for you. I was able to get EPP using a code from fatwallet.com and my gmail address. If only they'd ship my order that I placed Dec 21st... I've heard reports of people ordering after me receiving theirs so maybe i am just unlucky. I'm considering putting in a second order since it may ship sooner than my order that's been waiting for over a month...

Yes that is weird since mine still says $675 and has for the past couple weeks. I got an order in for $630 but then maybe it will never ship since its been over a month. Maybe they somehow cancelled my order because they dont want to sell it to me at that price?
 
People have been calling in and reps have been saying PD is back-ordered until 1st or 2nd week of Feb.

Meaning that's when new orders will ship or meaning that's when December orders will ship and new orders will ship in March?

BTW have you seen the other thread about how PD reps have no real information? :)
 
I originally ordered GH1's through PD and pretty much the same thing happened: delayed shipment, back orders, PD reps who c/wouldn't disclose any information. Then magically, two GH1's appeared at my doorstep. I believe that PD is allocated shipments about roughly the same time other retailers channels receive them (Amazon, BHPhoto, etc.), so they are just as out of stock as everyone else. But like everyone else, I believe their system processes orders by order number received. But who knows how large the backorder line is and how many units they're receiving? I have already received a GH2 from Amazon, but returned it because I don't need the 14-42 lens and I can wait for PD's shipment and save the money.

I've read the thread where someone rants about PD reps and tells everyone else to stop ranting. The poster had no more information than anyone else, so to my knowledge, was just blowing off steam.

I'm sure he knows, he probably just didn't want to make an unnecessary duplicate thread.

But he's right, panasonic did that huge price drop with the kit lens to a crazy low $750 a couple weeks ago, and as I bought one full price just right before that, it kind of peeved me a bit. Needless to say I feel better now that it's back up to a full 900 bucks! (selfish, I know :tongue:)
