GH2 Pre-orders

My conspiracy theory is that Panasonic had Adorama say the silver one was in stock and then measure how many people called to ask about the black one, or didn't order but still had black pre-orders there to see how much demand for the silver version there would be.

slrclub.com from korea is saying GH2 will be available in Korea around mid December. Add one more week for stocking in the States. I guess some of us will have very merry X-mas. I will order it from bhphotovideo. They seem so honest.
 
I ordered my GH2 (black) & 14-140 from Amazon on 9/24 - it will arrive 11/24. As for the conspiracy theories about Amazon - they've done the same thing before. When something sells beyond their 1-2 month window they stop taking orders. Nothing unique about the GH2 situation. I fully expect to see my GH2 on my doorstep on 11/24. :Drogar-Happy(DBG):

This is a known and proven marketing trick to gauge demand. I heard it in an audiobook...lol and yes, i would much rather watch or listen to someone read then read myself =)
 
I just spoke with Adorama. I dont mind waiting but was curious. The rep stated that they have "just received word from Panasonic that they will be shipping in Mid-December" and that he hopes it would be sooner, but the date from Panasonic is "pretty solid"
 
Stopped in at National Camera yesterday, they told me they're scheduled to get some cameras in on the 16th (or their supplier is, can't quite remember.) They also said they wouldn't be absolutely certain about it till the truck gets to the store, though.
 
I ordered mine on the 9th Nov from Adorma. It doesn't give me a date though, all it says is sometime in December. I just hope I see it before Christmas.
 
My Guess is that we see some start being shipped on Wednesday of this week and Amazon ships theirs on Monday/Tuesday of next week to the first people that ordered the Black 14-42mm ones. I think Amazon was padding their release date because of what happened with the GF1 last time. Amazon mobile indicates that my pre-order is supposed to ship 3 days before the date that the regular Amazon site shows. For those who ordered first that should be Monday or Tuesday of next week. You guys better switch to next day air if you want it before Thanksgiving though.

That is just because it gives a range that includes a date after Christmas. Just watch guys. These cameras will start shipping to US dealers this week and some people will get them in the US before Thanksgiving.
 
My black 14-140 (order placed Sept.25th on Amazon) still says delivery on November 25th (Prime). I'll be really surprised if it doesn't get here before Thanksgiving.
