Ugh that blows. Anyone know if you can change the shipping address on a placed order? Maybe if you call them? I am gonna be elsewhere Dec 10th - Jan 4th or so.

EDIT: looks like you can modify the order before it ships.
 
Ooooh! Goody for me, slightly better date range! guess this might end up feeling like a self christmas gift.

I would place a preorder with them but I figure it's too late to get in on the first round, if it isn't I might be able to get one if they go in stock on monday, and in any case I don't want to get stuck holding the bag if vendors get them and process orders at the same time. Multiple pre-orders make me a bit nervous. It would've been nice to use GH2 for a project I am working on now but GH13 is doing just fine and I'll be happy to get the thing before Jan.

I got an 11/30-1/4 range for my order from 9/22 using saver shipping. Going to switch to a Prime trial in a few days to see if that helps move my delivery time up. Did anyone use express shipping for the initial order?
 
I preordered on Amazon on 10/19 and my *expected* delivery date is November 24, 2010 - December 27, 2010
 
Getting the same date range up here in Canada. Body Only model to be available sometime between middle of November to middle of December.

We did hear a rumor that they'd have them in stock, but it seems unlikely that they'd have them so long before anyone else. What gives?

Where do you see it as in stock? I just spoke with them and was told that ETA is the 18th, and that the first allocation is sold out. I'm not sure if I specified the black GH2 in our conversation, but I may have done. But the silver with 14-140 has the same note as the black ones.
 
Around midnight on Friday both silver models were listed as though they were in stock. The "Not in stock" note you refer to on the 14-140 silver model reappeared Sunday. The silver 14-42 model does not as yet have that note (at 11:30 EST, Monday).

Re GH2 at Adorama: Just got off the phone with them. At first the salesman looked at the website and said it “looks like” the silver version was in stock; I made him check and then he said it was NOT in stock. He said their estimated availability dates are Nov. 18 for the silver and Nov. 19 for the black.
 
I just changed my shipping speed on Amazon from free saver to next day air using my Prime trial and my delivery date changed from an 11/30-1/4 estimate to December 16th. This was for an order placed on 9/22 (should have been very close to the top of the list to begin with)...not sure if I got knocked down in order for changing shipping or what.

skiandbike, that sucks. Was thinking about changing my Prime shipping to next day, but now I think I'll just leave it alone.

FYI - It's been my experience that Amazon usually beats their estimated arrival date on pre-order items unless it's for something like a release date delivery on a game. So maybe we'll get lucky and receive our GH2s early. Fingers crossed.

Good Idea. I canceled my black order thinking I was going to receive the Grey one. Boy was that a big mistake. I guess it probably bumped you up 1 spot in line though. You are welcome. :)
