GH2 official discussion thread

If my last post doesn't already answer you, I hope at least your rethorical question -- where the combination is likely beyond those three you simply point out, fulfills the remainder left for your own assumption/presumption that DoF (or sensor size) is out of equation there.

A lot of you would surely be amazed if you'd compare film with HD video from a 2/3" acquisition device for example... ;] But you can add it 1/3" or even smaller ala about 1/4" being the case of the little new Panasonic brought to this comparison.

Benjamin Franklin once defended something pronounced earlier by others... «Things as certain as death and taxes, can be more firmly believed»* -- none of those are related here but we don't need to certainly know the other contributions to a modern thinking in order to surely be entitled to our opinion, isn't it? ;-)

I am having trouble understanding your English.
But it really doesn't matter.

Has there been an appropriate test to show that the GH2 has 1780 vertical lines? Until that is done I don't believe it. No consumer camera or camcorder has ever achieved over 1100 vertical lines of resolution.
Sorry, I made a typo / freudian slip where I meant "horizontal" instead of "vertical" after 1780. I was talking about horizontal resolution in the sentence before, so it's just a slip. To clarify, I meant 1780 horizontal lines = 1000 lines per picture height = 880 line pairs. (All approximations, obviously) Also, I was referring to the Panny TM700/750. Haven't seen a resolution test on the GH2 yet.

Agreed. The previous model the TM700 was great, I'm looking forward to trying to the TM750 out with it better image stabilization when I head to Japan
The image stabilization on the TM700 is already outstanding, the best I've ever experienced, almost as good as a steadicam :) What makes you think that the TM750 has better image stabilization?

Looks like it was shot with different shutter speed (or even different modes/resolutions?).
Anyway ISO 3200 looks quite nice.

Agreed. In fact, there seems to be two exposures in the 3200 sample. At least one of them looks pretty good.

Does anyone else find it a little surprising/concerning that no English manual for the GH2 has slipped out onto the internets as yet? Am I wrong to think that likely means they are still a ways off shipping English-language cams?

I think that they are just unsure.
Sensor output is stilll very limited.
And having bad yen course they could get idea that it is better to ship camera in Japanese domestic market.
Hoping that exchange rate could change to more positive later (but most probably it won't happen).
Generally, if you read my interview about GH2 on 43rumors you'll find that almost all that we are expiriencing now.
