Is there any way to buy the hack that makes it possible to change language from Japanese to English? I need it for my GH2 that I bought on the internet in Korea by mistake I recived it with Japanese language and the seller did not let me refund it. Cant say that I am impressed by Panasonics policy about the language change, we are living in 2011.

I live in Australia and I want to buy the NTSC GH2 because of the better slow motion of 60fps but I'm worried about indoor lighting flickering like crazy. My GF1 has flicker reduction if you press the trash button while in movie mode when you are not filming. Does the NTSC GH2 do this? Or could I just put the camera on 1/50 shutter speed to sync to the local lighting

I wonder why there are PAL and NTSC models, if all you have to do is to swith shutter speed to 1/50 on an NTSC model an no more problems in PAL country. Is it all that eays? I cannot imagine.
You have a 1/50th of a second but still film with 30 or 60 fps.

30fps would be 1/60 60fps would be 1/120. Need lots of light for this one.

You cannot shoot 60fps at 1/50th. That's impossible. If you try, what will happen is the camera will drop the frame rate, so you'll end up with 30fps (with each frame being duplicated once to round it out to 60fps).

The slowest shutter speed you can use with 60fps, and actually still get 60 frames per second, is 1/60th.

That is what I mean.
One forum member wants to import an NTSC GH2 to Australia (PAL country) and wanted to get rid of the potential flickering by using 1/50th.
If that would be so easy, there would not be an PAL and an NTSC model.

Thanks Barry for clearing that point.

I agree. However, at 60FPS you could use 1/100s shutter speed and mostly (depends on light source) get rid of flicker also in "PAL" countries. On the other hand, at 30FPS, you may use 1/50s shutter speed and get rid of flicker entirely (in "PAL" countries, of course).

What sd card is everyone using for the GH2? Or better question is which one should I order?

Sandisk are supposed to be one of the more reliable cards. I just ordered 4 of the Extreme HD video 16 gb class 6. They are going for about $55 bucks a piece. Do a search on Amazon. They are more than fast enough for the GH2 and also include a 1 yr subscription to rescuepro. This allows you to retrieve your data if it's accidentally erased on the card.

Yes, but only if you get a real one. There are tons of fake ones out there, we just had a report from a guy today who got burned with two fake ones. Be careful who you buy from, and only buy cards from the manufacturer's authorized resellers.

True. I ordered from Bobotechnic. The price was good, shipping was fast and I received genuine Sandisk cards, along with serial numbered cards to register for rescuepro.

All the fake Sandisk cards are a problem, one reason why I go for a less copied brand if I want cheap cards. I find the same problem in one of my other hobbies, headphones. All the most popular models have tones of fakes.

I wonder when the new toshiba UHS-I cards will be released, they will be the fastest since the GH2 supports them

I was under the impression, while buying cards for the GH2, that it was necessary to buy class 10 cards with a rating of 30. I have already bought two of these Sandisk cards, 16mb. However, I need to buy a few extra 8gb cards for a trip. Am I overbuying by getting 10/30? Thanks.
