GH2 NO HDMI TO BLACK MAGIC INTENSITY, or what's wrong ¿?

I'm having the same problem actually. Just got a black magic intensity today, installed it, tried it with my HMC40 - no problems, tried it with the GH2 - can't get it to show up under any settings. I also own a MXO2 Mini and it can see the GH2 no problems, just seems to be the intensity that can't see it, and only the GH2 that it can't see.

GOODYES, you're not alone.

Guys, my Intensity Pro is working fine with the GH2. I would like to help you, if I can.

Just to clarify, do you have an Intensity or an Intensity Pro?

memphishills, in MediaExpress you must set the Project Video Format to HD 1080i 60, or else you will get a blank screen.

GOODYES, if I understand you, you're getting a picture but can't record it. Yes?

I wasn't aware they made a non-pro version (at least according to their website) So I'll go with I have an Intensity Pro. I'm using it on a Mac so I don't think it installed Media Express. I was trying to capture into Boinx (a television style switcher program that I've used with good results with the Matrox card) and it would see multiple camera's just not the GH2, and I tested every capture setting.

EDIT: looks like I can download Media Express for Mac, I'll try that later and see what happens.

I can record 1080i50 just fine with our Intensity Pro in a Mac (BTW, the older Intensity non-Pro was just a cheaper model without analog connectors, now discontinued).

I found another problem, though: it seems that the menu where you can set HDMI to other sizes than 1080 is completely useless! It gets disabled as soon as you plug anything in. Is this normal or a fault in my camera?

Normal. The GH2 only sends a 1080 50i/60i signal over the HDMI.

I think I can shed some light: The GH2 sends an oddball 60Hz HDMI signal (as noted with remorse in the links above) but the broadcast standard is 59.94Hz. In Media Express (the capture software from BlackMagic)) there is a project preset for 1080 60Hz. If I use this preset then my GH2's HDMI signal instantly appears. BUT... If I go to any other app and select the Intensity as an input, there is no 60Hz option available (only 59.94) so the GH2 will not show up no matter what I do. I called BlackMagic on 5/2/2011. They confirmed that they don't expose the 60Hz capture option in their Quicktime driver, so most apps cannot currently capture from the GH2. (We were discussing Mac OS, but it seems true for Windows too.)

I filed a "feature request" to add 60Hz capture to the Intensity driver. Now we wait?
