GH2 GH2 major price drop

There are several deals on ebay right now... It depends on what you want. If the 14-42mm lens is a deal breaker then you might have to pay more, but if not there are several authorized dealers selling the gh2 for under 850 and a few for under 800 usd... The gh1 is even lower, I just grabbed a second one for 350 usd recently... Insane that ten years ago a camera like this would have been out of my grasp... Film makers of today have such nice toys coming out, but the lack of affordable gear has been replaced with the lack of a strong market for content with the influx of projects being produced so I suppose it all evens out... Sorry for the rant hahahaha...

can you tell me where you found yours for $780 shipped? I am kicking myself in the butt for not catching that $749 deal on B&H.
 
facebook pana was having a deal on the gh2 a couple days ago. dunno how much it was going for though i assume it was less than rrp 800
 
As of today they are still running a body only promotion for $719 w free shipping if u like the panasonic facebook page then go to the left of their page where it says 'fan deals only' ... I just cant figure out wether to wait and buy it w the kit lens when it prob comes back down to $750 w 14-42 mm like it was on B&H for a few days or grab it now before they are gone.

I just grabbed it for 899$. Would've liked to have gotten the 750$ deal, but it's still way better than the Canadian dealers I was looking at. Plus I was also afraid it would sell out quick.

I should point out to everyone that (as per a PM from Deathtoprint) if you "like" panasonic's facebook page the body only deal is apparently less than 750 usd... I can't validate that since I have no facebook or plans to ever have one... Might be valuable to everyone on these boards if someone could post how this is done so the members can get the best deal going... And I was super happy with my body being 780 usd lol... I'd have paid 850 without question, the camera is sexy!

Well if you can match the ~Oct. 28th B&H Photo sale price of $749 w/ the 14-42mm kit lens I'd buy it from you TODAY. Otherwise, I'll probably be getting the Panasonic deal for $719 body only then just pick up the Canon FD lenses and adapter as I can't afford the Leica/Panasonic HD glass...

B&H was selling for $749 w/ kit lens for a couple days and the day I found out was the DAY after sale stopped!

I got the body only a couple of months ago as I didn't think the kit lens was any good. I only thought that based on my experiences with Canon and Sony.

Turns out the Panny kit lens is quite good and the stabilizer is a bonus. My advice is to get the body with the 14-42 kit lens.

If you can't afford the pan/Leica 25mm consider getting the 20mm 1.7 pancake for now.
 
The same warning comes with every open box they sell, even when it's a one-piece usb flash drive. If they tried to sell it missing the battery or charger,(for instance) it wouldn't be a functioning camera, as those things are hardly accessories. If it is missing anything it might be the manual...might.

Besides, you can send it back and get a full refund within 30 if you aren't happy with your purchase.
 
Bummer. Just got the 14-140 kit for $1299 on B&H. Even with the $719 deal on panasonic direct, it wouldn't make sense for me to get it, since the lens itself is around $750

Guess I shouldn't complain then. 14-140 kit now $1499. I know Amazon is out of stock again. Maybe they're at the end of another batch and so prices go back up. I didn't even think of Black Friday deals...wondering if they've got anything up their sleeve.
