GH2 LCD screen issues

Mine changes more in indoor, higher iso situations. Not more or less contrast, but the color shifts towards yellow/green tint. But the amount really varies depending on the specific situation. That's what I find the most frustrating ... and I'd LOVE to find a fix!

I wonder if it could be hacked to show certain color space in preview mode to match the mode in record. Although I doubt it's purely this what's causing the changes.

Why not just set your shot up, hit record, and make that tiny, minor adjustment that seems to be upsetting you so much? That would take, ooh, all of 2 seconds.

I know how it might come accross as minor but it's still an inconvinience and if it could be fixed wouldn't you rather have it? I would.

Yeah, sure, I would. Life is too short though! :)

Hehe, well I'm not sure you understand the problems it brings though. It's not about a minor adjustment that you can do in camera. The color space change effects all the colors qualities. Saturation etc.

So the problem that is most likely to happen is that when an actor comes on set wearing make up people look at the monitor to judge how it looks. If it looks like there's too much red make up on the cheeks you decide to take it off. Now you hit record and notice, damn, that's too little red on the cheeks now! And you've wasted an hour...

For this kind of film-making, perhaps this isn't the right camera.

I've shot in such a fastidious way, changing make-up levels etc., ( I hated it) and the results were awful, acting wise, as a result of the crew being so visually obsessed. That was on 35mm - what a waste I thought!

I've shot a s16mm commercial like that too, where details are important, but not to that extent really and I don't personally believe that the change in exposure and levels is so serious as to ruin shots in that way - you should always try to keep levels from peaking, so you can adjust in post cc.

Perhaps you're seeing something more extreme than me.

EDIT: Actually, sorry to discourage you. I realise that's not helpful. Carry on trying to resolve this if you can. I suspect it may just be a limitation of the camera however.
