GH2 in stock thread

I was calling Panasonic Direct to cancel my order... too late. I guess its arrives tomorrow.. now what do I do with this T2i? (Iv actually grown quite fond of it...)
 
I got my GH2 last night from PD EPP. Charged the battery while looking at the manual. Played with the camera for a short while. Camera seems more faster than my GH1 in taking photos and maneuvering through the menu. Video is very good in low light. EVF seems clearer. I noticed that there are some functions that weren't in the GH1 such as Face Recog. (storing up to 6 people's faces), Ex. Tele Conv., iResolution and iDynamic. From what I read most people don't think iDynamic does that much. Ex. Tele Conv. is only 4x in video. I thought I read some people saying it was 10x.

I mainly upgraded because of the follow focus and low light improvement to shoot pictures of my granddaughter and "newest toy on block" syndrome. I got my GH1 for taking travel pictures. I am thankful that I don't have lug around a still camera and video camera anymore and I get great video.

My order status is still open on PD and my credit card hasn't been charged yet.
 
Arrived this afternoon, completely out of the blue!

Of course I'm sitting with a body and no way to attach anything to it, didn't expect it this soon. Adapters are now on their way.
 
What are the chances my PD EPP (12/20) and Provantage (1/18) GH2 orders would arrive the same day?? Well they both arrived today. Worth the wait, this camera is crazy, I just got the body only for $685 and I just sold my unopened $883 kit for $999 msrp, and I probably could've gotten more. I imagine the time will come very very soon that people will no longer be willing to pay above retail to get a GH2 without preordering. I wonder once the camera is in stock everywhere, how much of an effect things like the $740 uniquephoto and $685 (except now it's $730 or something) PD EPP prices will have on resell value?

I tested out the horizontal banding issue. Guess what? No banding issue whatsoever with WE1C version. I tried a setting at 24p, 3200 iso, 125 ss, and cinema mode. Clean! Super!!

AFS + Continous AF option disabled. 20.7 pancake didn't try to do AF continuously during recording!!! Half shutter pressing did focus again.

Audio level to 1. So much cleaner sound than GH1. Audio level to 0 would have been better though. That little audio meter box is so useful.

Much faster AF.

I tell ya. Imma happy camper tonight!!! Woohoo!!!!!!!!!

Finally arrived. yay.
Now that I have Blackout-Lpowell 24p, it seems not such a huge leap forward, but everything is nice: photos, high iso; ETC gives a me a 40mm F/1.7. I expected faster focus with the 20mm, but hey, this is a great cam.
Can't wait to put the Vivitar 90mm F/2.5 macro on it
Keep reaching for the front wheel that isn't there. Tiny battery.
For me, the HMMI monitoring is awesome on the big screen.

Hey, maybe they won't charge you :) Then what do you do? Hey, tell them you will pay them but they have to call every day for four months.
Anyway, I forgive them, it is a great cam. Thank you Panasonic.

Grrrr... My estimated ship date from ProVantage was supposed to be March 28 - 30. I emailed them today and got an auto-reply for estimated ship date: 04/28/11!!

(I'm still hoping it will ship in the next week, and that their bullocks status is wrong). I would cancel my order with PV and buy from someone else, but I'd rather not pay full retail & not all places will ship to an APO. Congrats to everyone who got their GH2(s) - enjoy shooting and post your favorite stuff (!)
