GH2 in stock thread

I placed a pre-order through B&H for a black 14-42 kit on the morning of February 8th, about an hour after I got the email that they were accepting pre-orders on that model. They took away the pre-order option on their website about a week later, and it hasn't returned. After five weeks had passed it started to feel like I'd never get my GH2. All of the devastation and suffering in Japan over the past week really put my trivial desire for this camera in perspective. But surprisingly out of the blue last night I got an email saying my camera had shipped! It arrived this afternoon and I had enough time to charge the battery and go out and shoot at the park with a little sunlight. It's a real pleasure to finally have this thing!

My thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Japan. In addition to investing in their electronic products, I will be donating money to charity to help them out:

I was wondering the same thing. But I would actually guess that vendors get less of the silver models (thinking they aren't as popular OR because they're just not as available from the manufacturer) and therefore, the lower quantity sells out more quickly. Could be either way, though.

I've got to tell ya, this camera, it's like a fine wine. If you really want to appreciate it, stick it in the closet for 3 months before opening the box.

To those who have been waiting TOO LONG for their GH2 orders placed directly on Panasonic, we have GOOD NEWS! Trickhog, I owe you man! I called Kenmore after I saw your post and, bang! I got the last 14-140 kit. It ships Monday. The wait up until this point has been so long, I was starting to think this camera didn't actually exist.
 
Brian from Kenmore just called me to tell me my camera just got loaded onto the truck and will be shipped out today... less than a half hour after I ordered it. Wow, that's service.

Hallelujah. I have been waiting since Jan. 18. I am thankful that I can still get my GH2 despite the tragedy in Japan.

I don't want to order another cam from
Somebody else if Panny can actually deliver. Does this go for EPP purchases too?

Awesome! Did you do UPS Ground? They had said earlier that it would ship Monday, but that'd be nice if it was today. I'm stoked either way-- just curious.

You're welcome. But the real thanks goes to Dsleep, you alerted me to Kenmore having them in stock. After following the development of this camera since last November, I should receive mine on Tuesday. Very excited to start playing with it...
 
no worries guys, I was starting to get anxious about finding one myself so I was happy to see kenmore post on facebook about new GH2s coming in. they got some in last week as well.
kenmore has been good about updating their facebook when they get new cams in.
 
Kenmore have nothing left. I went to buy another GH2 and they have nothing left, no body, no kits. They also have no clue about future stock levels.
