GH2 in stock thread

Checked with Unique a month ago (placed order with them on Jan 15) and just sent them another email today to see if there were any updates...
 
I don't know who i spoke to I called there at 2 different times and it seemed like the same guy picked up anyway in NYC............but the first time i called him he said they didn't have any.......the second time i called another day it was early in the morning he said he had no idea when Panasonic was gonna ship anymore to them...So in the End I went with Fotocare in NYC because every time I called them they had them in stock they were just spoken for already....and they said they would probably get another shipment this week. Next week the latest so i Figured i waited this long I can wait a little longer
 
Wow, Panasonic is a joke. It's March and they still don't have enough supply to satisfy demand. What are they waiting for? I guess they're waiting for Canon or Sony or somebody to step in with something new and take the market away from them. They never heard of "strike while the iron is hot". At some point people get tired of waiting and go for what's available or becomes available. I thought that come January, they'd finally have broad availability of the GH2; instead, it's March, and still nothing, meanwhile there are rumors that they won't have broad availability until the holiday season of Christmas 2011 - who is going to wait that long? It's ridiculous.
 
They better not wait for chrismas, 5d mk3 already coming fast and have 4:2:2 color! Better hurry up or you will get flossed! Panasonics is sucks! Slow! lol
 
Fact is when I posted a while back about PD restocking the warehouse I was telling the ttruth. But what I recently found out was they only send less than a dozen at a time. They only ship according to where you stand on the waiting list. So, at that rate....some of us won't see a camera for a long(er) time. I must have called them over a dozen times. I would badger them over and over until I get some info about a restock date. That date would pass and I then finally get more info out of a supervisor who then explains to me the real deal. Those folks got a profile on me. lol

Everytime I call they remind me of the last conversation we had. I'm currently on a friendly first name basis with all the workers and supervisors. lol If I needed a camera that bad I would have went elsewhere. But....patience is a virtue....especially at the price I'll eventually get it for.

Honestly though....I think Panasonic does this on purpose. They know they are selling this for a steal.
 
They better hurry up or i`ll just spend the money on a lift kit for my truck lol. I need another camera like i need another hole in my head.
 
Hmm been waiting on my GH2 from PD for awhile now. I bought another one from a online reseller and got it a few days later. But if Pana doesn't ship my other Gh2 by the time the 5D mark 3 is announced I'm gonna sell all my panasonic junk and go canon all the way. Canon seems to be able to have stock readily available right away after a announcement.

This is bull crap really wishing I just bought 2 refurbed t2i's, how much demand can panasonic really have?
 
Thank ian for finding out. I order gh2 dec3 and arrive after 2 weeks. Then I order another gh2 dec 20 black and not arrive yet! Lol
 
YUP, I didn't want to waste any more time looking for one, So I grabbed a t3i till the 5d3 is released. Why waste anymore time, creativity comes on a whim, I would hate to be inspired and not have a camera to shoot with. Good one Pani.
 
No idea how many they have in stock, but if you're willing to risk ordering direct from Panasonic, the PD EPP is currently selling GH1 body-only for $349.95 (and G2 body only for $299.95).
 
I was intersted in the black body as they sell it for $737 but I was willing to take a silver for that price and the lady said about 2 months. There are 15 people on the waiting list and they just got 5 black and 3 silver today. Last shipment was in January. With a bit of luck one might get a GH2 before this Christmas
 
Wow, I put this on the back burner for a while and came back now, figuring the GH2 would be readily available by March. Guess I was wrong. Every store I go to shows "temporarily out of stock".

When it's time to purchase a camera for my day job (can't keep using my personal 7D forever!), I guess I'll be getting a Canon, probably a t2i or a t3i. Too bad, the Panasonic looked great, but I'm not interested in waiting months on end. Goodbye, Panny.

WHOA really? I just signed up for the waiting list the other day for the silver body and they said there was 3 people ahead of me. I guess i'm next in line, unless PD actually ships my order before Uniqe Photo re-ups.

After watching this thread for 4 months now, I just pulled the trigger on a GH2 from Unique Photo. Thanks Youry for the "heads up". Unique has 3 14-42 kits left as of this writting. I should have mines by the weekend. Now begins the hunt for Glass!
